PARADOXES and IRONIES where you Live and In YOUR LIFE

We all got them. Most folks say shit like "I'm very smart but I do stupid things".

I'm not sure how much longer I'll remain here in Bangkok but I'll point out a few things:

1. Thais have a playful attitude towards sex. They're more accepting and less judgemental about sexuality here than in the west. You can be a ladyboy or gay, and it doesn't seem to matter nor get much attention in Bangkok. BUT they are very shy with their genitals, and very reserved in their outward 'public' behavior, whofarted, and they appear to be accepting and have an 'anything goes' attitude so long as it is not in their immediate family lol

In my own life, ...
I'm very good at computer related work...I can adapt to and do just about anything in the IT world if given a couple of weeks to adjust. But I don't like any of it.

Oh good.I'm rehearsing my "OOH! It's so big!" speech for when you do.
I do hope it's convincing.

While I wait on your crotch pic I'll play along:

I'm totally loud and outgoing and obnoxious and a "life of the party" type socially, but I get all kinds of nervous having to speak or present to even a small group in a meeting situation.

It's boring, I know, but hey, it's kind of a crappy thread anyway.shrug

I am the exact opposite. I can talk in front of a room of 200 people if it's work/presentation related and I'll maybe get a little nervous but it's no big deal. I regularly run meetings, etc.

But put me in a room of people I don't know and tell me to "mingle" and I'm turning right around and walking out the door.

I'm a self-proclaimed "loner", but I really hate feeling lonely neutral

don't know if that qualifies as a paradox or not?
If you will, so will I

This is true for me too.

I made pretty good money doing IT-related work, but I hated it. Really hated it. Before that, I spent five years teaching computer classes. None of my students would believe that I really don't like computers. confused
It's what you make it.

lol That's part of what I was going to say. Thailand can be ultra-conservative, or at least very try-hard in presenting an image of respectful, reserved, conservative behaviour, but it's like they're in denial as far as the world's perception of the country and the stereotypes. No sex on TV, but Thailand's sex industry is well known. Likewise violence, smoking, drug-taking etc. being censored on TV but being rife in society.
