True. And for the record: Lafayette only called her bitch and hookah one time each. I just counted. And how the hell did Eric get to Dallas from Louisiana that damn fast??? That's about a 3-4 hour drive. Can these vampires really fly? And if so at what altitude? Do they need to check in with the FAA and shit??? [Edited 7/13/09 17:51pm]

I also wondered how Eric was moving like that! They're fast, but geez. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

How fast did he make it there? How can being a vampire propel a mechanical vehicle faster? And wouldn't it be problematic to have vampires floating around willy nilly at night with planes flying around? I'm gonna guess it took Eric less than an hour. I think they mentioned Bill and Sookie landed just after sunset, so that's fairly early. I was wondering how Eric got there so quickly but was thinking it was either an aspect of his vampire powers that they haven't show yet or else he was moving really fast, which they always show the vamps doing (but the idea of him running 300 miles seems a little silly). The other thing I thought was that it would be fairly easy for him to glamour his way onto a flight to Dallas, so maybe he just did that.

Question: At the birthday party Maryann threw for Tara, Maryann seems upset at watching Eggs and Tara dance. She takes her present to Tara from the gift table and throws it in the bushes outside. I assumed she wanted the two of them to get together.
What's up with that? Am I understanding something wrong? Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

What's up with that? Am I understanding something wrong? You missed a part - that gift was from Tara's mom. Tara's mom dropped by the bar & asked Sam to deliver it for her. That's how Sam ended up @ the party, he didn't wanna go.

What's up with that? Am I understanding something wrong? I think Tara is the key to something that Maryanne is trying to accomplish. She went into the woods and started doing her vibratin' thing, I thought, to push Tara and Eggs into fucking, so Maryanne could get her hooks into Tara thru him. She's purposely trying to isolate Tara from anyone, (Sookie, her mom), who might challenge Maryanne's power. Also, I'm thinking Tara might end up having some kind of powers herself. Didn't she do something crazy last season when she was in the woods with ol' girl that got killed? Or was that only the peyote?

All the vampires in the Sookie books can move lightening fast. They are super-strong and can jump very high or off buildings and be fine. Some have other "gifts". I won't go into who has what gift except to say that, as mentioned before, Eric can levitate and actually fly. I wouldn't put it past a vamp to glamour their way onto an airplane, but in the books that doesn't happen. They all travel by the special, vamp security, airline mentioned on the show. Anubis (sp?) Airlines. In the book, they also stay at a hotel that specializes in vampire needs, but it is called "Silent Shores." I'm firmly planted in denial

Okay, I'm watching this shit AGAIN, and I've decided that Tara has to be THE most unsexiest character on the show. Between her annoying, fake ass accent, neediness, and bad dancing I just don't know 'bout this hookah. And why's Lafayette trynta fuck the chair and hollering about Vegas??? That boy a fool!
Also, am I the only one who thinks the special effects on here are really cheesy? They couldn't come up with something a lil more high tech for Maryanne's vibratin'??? [Edited 7/14/09 21:26pm]

Okay, so are you saying I need to suspend reality all the way and stop trynta understand how in the hell Eric travelled 300 miles so damn quick??? In another thread, someone explained that Maryanne is a Maenad: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maenad In Greek mythology, Maenads were the female followers of Dionysus, the most significant members of the Thiasus, the retinue of Dionysus. Their name literally translates as "raving ones". Often the maenads were portrayed as inspired by him into a state of ecstatic frenzy, through a combination of dancing and drunken intoxication.[1] In this state, they would lose all self control, begin shouting excitedly, engage in uncontrolled sexual behavior, and ritualistically hunt down and tear animals (and sometimes men and children) to pieces, devouring the raw flesh

[Edited 7/14/09 21:26pm] Funny you mention Tara's dancing. Rutina Wesley was the lead character in a Canadian movie called "How She Move" released last year. She plays a competitive stepper, and folk went on and on about how well she danced in the movie! I haven't seen it, though, so I can't vouch for her. Tara is a bit much for me, though. She's works in the show, but I could never be bothered with her in real life. (Unless she needed some sort of pastoral help. ). Rutina, however, is sexy, I think -- she's cute enough and she's got a great athletic build. Hell, I wouldn't fight her! The special effects? Yeah, they're sketchy. Some are decent, but it looks RIDICULOUS when Sam morphs into the dog, for example, and those fangs can look really silly sometimes. But I love the hokiness of the show! Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Well I just looked her up and she was born and raised in Las Vegas, both her parents are professional dancers and she's apparently studied dance for years. This trick even graduated from Julliard. All this yet her scene dancing with Eggs looked awkward as hell and she's incapable of doing a simple Southern accent. She does have a nice body even though she's angular in a boyish, "dancer's body" kinda way. Nothing sexy about her IMO but I do think she's cute. I think the accent and how she's playing Tara is making it hard for me to like her. Okay, I was starting to think I was the only one unimpressed with the effects cuz no one's mentioned them. So, basically the show is being cheesy intentionally? Alrighty, then.
