True Blood 2.4 "Shake and Fingerpop" *Spoilers* FINALLY the hiatus is over!!
They are pacing this show so slow!!! It's driving me crazy! Still the quickest "hour" on t.v. Where to start? I love Eric. I thought I was going to DIE laughing at Lafayette!! I knew Eric had some hot blood! For those that wanted a Tara nudie/sex scene...your wait is over. Maryanne....she is scary. LOVE HER!! Sam got spooked to death! Can't wait to see what Daphne is! Bill is sexy as hell. He's no Eric, but he's sexy as hell. I've read all 9 books and I have no idea what's going to happen I'm firmly planted in denial

Bill's getting less sexy to me, but Eric is definitely stepping up. He's getting hotter and hotter.
Speaking of hot...well, hello there, Eggs. I'm liking the further exploration of the vampire world (the Dallas cowboy vampires, the references to the vampire hierarchy) a lot. And I'm intrigued by the mind-reading bellboy. Very nice touch.

how closely does this show follow the books? I'm reading them now, but I know I won't finish if I start watching this show.

You will have hints of what's going to happen, but by no means will you know what's going on. In the books...Lafayette dies at the beginning of book 2. In the show he obviously does not. In the books...Tara is a minor character as is Jason. In the books...Barry the Bellboy is Barry the Bellboy (the other telepath in Dallas) I wonder how close AB will follow that character. The characters are in the books...AB just mixes it up for the show, I guess is the best way to describe the difference. I'm firmly planted in denial

Instead of it being a "by invitation only" private type orgy party, it's a a huge "by invitation only" more public type orgy party....at Sookie's house. Tara's just moved in w/ Sookie and Maryanne brings Tara's birthday party to Sookie's house (Sookie is in Dallas w/ Bill) No Eric in pink work out lycra shorts. I'm firmly planted in denial

So I can wait for it to be revealed, but do these people just forget it all when they're in the "trance" @ the party & their eyes go black? I could have sworn these mf's would die or something.
& why is Maryanne so vested in Tara & Eggs fucking? I haven't read any of the books so I'm clueless, but it's interesting enough to stick around & find out what the hell is up

Feed the energy that generates her particular type of insanity and/or B. It will give Maryanne more power in general and more power over Tara & Eggs. I'm firmly planted in denial

This episode was just ok for me. Same here. The pacing is very frustrating. Just when the show starts picking up, it's over. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I love the Jason storyline. First, I love how it's showing the imperfections of people who believe themselves to be Christians. Second, for this storyline, the pacing is a bit better. I'm firmly planted in denial

Now that was some hot, stank booty ass, hunk o' chocolate love. Shit, I had to look away I was so uncomfortable. Lafayette a dayum fool.

In all fairness, the chocolate love scene was too dark. Should have had some more candle light or something!! I love Lafayette! I'm firmly planted in denial

I liked this episode too. It was a lot of fun. I so love Jessica. The way she glamoured that guy, hehe.
And Lafayette acting crazy after drinking Eric´s blood. It seems that Maryanne is the creature that attacked Sookie after all, isn´t she?

You can really tell in HD. Despite the lighting Eggs was obviously scrambling that ass well. I still can't stand his peanut head tho.

I don´t know why they call it that to be honest. Glamouring is like some sort of hypnosis except that the subject is not a willing participant. The vampires just take away the will of the person they glamour. Or something like that

From the Online Etymological Dictionary (http://www.etymonline.com...rm=glamour): 1720, "magic, enchantment" (especially in phrase to cast the glamour), a variant of Scot. gramarye "magic, enchantment, spell," alt. of Eng. grammar (q.v.) with a medieval sense of "any sort of scholarship, especially occult learning." Popularized by the writings of Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832). Sense of "magical beauty, alluring charm" first recorded 1840. Glamorous is 1882 (slang shortening glam first attested 1936); glamorize is 1936.

Anciently, glamouring was thought of as a type of means by which witches, magicians or supernatural beings made themselves appear magically more attractive or irresistible to others. The word eventually migrated to popular use to describe the bolstered attractiveness affected through makeup, bling, swagger, etc. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
