What a Difference A RIVER MAKES

In the democratic republic of congo, a militia of male chimpanzees roughly two dozen strong in numbers
quietly treks single file through the jungle floor, stopping frequently to sniff the air and listen for their prey. Contrary to what
people once believed Chimpanzees eat meat as well as vegetation much like humans do. The leader will
stop. look back to make sure his followers are in tune with him (and they ALWAYS are), and lead each stealthily closer and closer
to their prey.
Suddenly, their prey is spotted, and the platoon splits into smaller groups surrounding it so that it has no possible chance
to escape once they move in on it. Once caught they will beat the prey with rocks, their fists, and whatever
is at their disposal, biting at it’s flesh until it succumbs to death.
The prey is a female juvenile Chimpanzee. They encircle her and commence to beating her senseless in a violent and
rather loud battle. Despite her desperation, she has no chance to escape, no chance to fight them, no chance whatsoever.
If she had been a juvenile male chimpanzee they would have torn his genitals off in the process.
Once dead, the invading Chimps will tear her limb from limb and pass her parts around to be eaten, before they disappear
once again through the jungle back to their own territory.
Just south a couple miles south of the site of the massacre, on the other side of the congo, resides a colony of primates almost identical to the
chimpanzee in every way, except they’re a bit smaller, and stand a bit more human like. These animals
are called bonobos.
Where Chimpanzees will alienate their surrounding neighbors and move in on their territory at every chance
they get, bonobos, when they run into neighboring ‘tribe’s will resort to a much different behavior.
They will have an orgy.
When a bonobo meets a stranger of the bonobo type, they will greet with a kiss, often french kissing, rubbing and stimulation of
the genitals, and intercourse, This behavior will be conducted regardless of the sexual configration of the meeting, and bonobos
will engage in both heterosexual and homosexual displays of affection.
Bonobos resolve all of their social dilemmas through sexual behavior. A bonobo, male or female, will try to bargain with another
through sex. Bonobos will reward each other with sex. Hell, bonobos will negotiate through sex.
Bonobos are not menogamous, neither possessing a partner, dominating it, nor controlling it. Rather they engage in rampant
mutli-partner sexual escapades and do not seem to care if their partner is male or female. Female sexual contact is very common
where two females will rub each other’s vaginas together in a contorted “scissoring” position.

Why this remarkable difference in characteristics, despite the fact that they are almost identical and come from a common
recent chimp ancestor (no more than a few million years) ? The reason why chimpanzees don’t invade bonobo territories
is pretty obvious--neither large primate is fond of swimming, so when the populations somehow became isolated from
one another on opposite sides of the congo, they evolved to have their own sets of characteristics.
But why such a remarkable difference?

Scientist speculate that because the bonobos resided on the more fertile, resource abundant side, there was no need to evolve
special war-like characteristics. But the verdict is still out.

I have my own theory on this. Firstly, bonobos are matriarchal. That is, the females are the top dogs in these groups.
Whenever you let females run the show, it’s my opinion that cooperation becomes more likely. Testosterone is a hellova
hormone.
Surely with women in charge, wars will end and folks will get down to the business of freakin’ the shit out of each other
in endless combinations, where neighboring tribes will never have to worry about being torn to shreads--only the possibility
that those around you are making fun of your shoes behind your back. But hey, the sex is great!

I just wanted to read your post more easily, boo.

It was very interesting. Do the Bonobos have any issues with STD's?

I'm not really sure. I was trying to promote a wildly female centric
lifestyle and no-strings-attached polygamous sex. To mention the
potential ramifications would have been a downer.
