Have You Seen the Hot New Sunglasses?

My co-worker was wearing one of these yesterday. I have never seen anything like it. I know it's mean, but I was confused, scared & on the verge of tears of hysteria when I saw this.

Is this popular in Asia?

It may be related to this trend...

I understand the dangers of sun exposure and all. But the visors are not really as effective as an umbrella, and not really more effective than big sunglasses, are they?

I did know a Korean girl who said she was allergic to the sun; she used to get blisters & rashes really easily.

But the visors are just strange. What about a hat? Maybe I'm just getting old?

I definitely understand, I wear big ol' hats when I am in the sun for very long.

But do you think the visors are that much more practical than sunglasses? Your neck & the sides of your face are still exposed.

It looks like something a celebrity would wear when shopping to avoid being recognized. Although a visor that large calls so much attention that it would defeat the purpose of someone trying to not stand out.

But it looks like a rock fell on the visor and knocked it into the person's face.

Ooh... It's very Kylie-esque.

You couldn't wear something like this when buying milk at the corner shop - unless you're Grace Jones, I suppose.
