I don't know why but I love the grilled corn at the fair. I've never figured out how to duplicate it at home, grill's not hot enough I guess.

Do any of you actually like corn, or is it just the stuff being put on it that you like? Does anyone eat it straight up?

It is super amazing. Just strawberries, sugar, a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar and cream. It's the strawberry-ist strawberry ice cream you'll ever taste.

I put balsamic on strawberry shortcake drool

Okay, now you're just trying to freak me out eek

Yeah, but I'm not good with dairy (especially here) so I don't have butter on my sandwiches or anything.

That's a European thing. I got myself in the habit of eating open faced breakfast sandwiches with butter when I moved here...then my gut started to spread and I had to cut that mess out. Butter is supposed to be for CORN
headbang...when I actually allow myself to eat it smile

Hmmm
I love Corn on the cob.
What i do is generously butter a piece of bread and then wrap it round the corn cob, thus ensuring the full cob is coated in butter.a sprinle of salt and pepper then repeat the bread rub.
The bread is then eaten afterwards....lovely. woot!
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Not for a sandwich lol

Can we just clarify... A sandwich is two pieces of bread, with some kind of tasty filling between them, right? just in case it means something strange, in the same way that crisps are chips and chips are fries. biggrin confused

lol Yes, a sandwich will usually involve some kind of meat (or meat substitute), some veggies (lettuce, tomato, sprouts), & condiments (mayo, mustard) between 2 pieces of bread. The condiments knock out the need for butter (for me, at least) smile

Some Americans do. wave

Depends on the sandwich, of course. For example, for a grilled sandwich, you butter the outside. But there are definitely sandwiches for which I butter the inside of the bread before adding the filling. shrug

You realize it's the corn that makes you fat - not the butter. lol

Me too. Though I have found that I sometimes put cheese on my sandwich and those I have met that put butter on their bread usually do not put cheese, just meat and butter. That does not compute to me.
Ahh well, it's all good.
Back to corn...yum, corn on the cob!

My problem is I am not willing to pay three dollars for a grilled corn on the cob at the fair. If it was just one, no problem. But I have 3 girls, plus myself and my husband if he wants one...I am not paying 15.00 for corn! confused
