Well done to Roger Federer

Congrats on Wimbeldon and the 15th major. And what a final!

Hat's off also to Andy Roddick. I doubt Rafa could have played better than that.

An absolutely epic match for the 2nd year in a row. Regardless of the winner, it was great drama.

I'm a big fan of Federer's, but I don't think there's anyone who can't have felt badly for Roddick. He couldn't possibly have played any better than he did.

woot! Fantastic match! Never been more impressed by Andy Roddick. Sadly, if he can't win it playing that well, he never will.

Roger, you're just too good. clapping

Great final. Well done Rog! smile

In a side note, I'm pleased to say I don't think Murray would've been out of his depth in that final. May even have won it.....

Roger would've had a much easier time breaking Murray. His service games would've been more competitive, but I think Roger would've won it in 3 or 4 sets.

After seeing how Federer played today,I wish it was Andy Murray up against him.
Murray would have kicked Federers' ass today.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I think so too. When Roddick won, I was like damn, Federer might as well chalk that up as another win. lol

You may be right, but Murray's a better returner of serve so may have troubled Fed's serve more. Having said that, how many aces did Roger put down! eek

Last year Murray was comfortably beaten by Nadal who went on to just beat Fed. This year there was nothing in the matches Murray v Roddick, then Roddick v Federer. There wasn't that big a gap in class.

But we'll never know.....

I like R-Fed. Dude isn't great with the media and yet that's what makes him cool to me. He's not this polished media darling like others are; he really struggles with the interviews and that makes him more real than celeb. Glad to see Pistol Pete there as well, and pimp daddy Bjorn.

There's not really anyone worthy of hate in tennis, it's degrees of niceness. smile

Fed is no slouch mentioning his greatness, which slightly puts me off him, but not much. Deserved to get his 15th slam.

Roddick came across well this week with a few cool quotes. One to watch form-wise too.

What a match! I thought that last set would never end. I feel bad for Andy Roddick, thought; he put up one hell of a fight in this match and I don't believe anyone outside of Roger Federer has played a match this intense ever.

I think Roger Federer does pretty well with the media, but he's not a camera hog like Shaquille O'Neal or Deion Sanders. Besides, he's Swiss, and I believe he speaks three or four different languages fluently. He was answering questions to the French media in fluent French after his win at the French Open, and his English is really good too, though there is a slight accent.

clapping Yeah, I DID catch him hype himself up a few times about that, but it's all good, I like when athletes realize their greatness and can back that shit up.

He's 6-2 against Federer. Of course, he was 6-2 against Roddick before the semifinals. And the last time Federer beat Murray was their biggest match, last year's US Open final. Murray still hasn't proved he can win on the biggest stage.

Exactly. Just like that epic 5-setter Federer won last year at Wimbledon... oh wait, Nadal won that. Or this year's Australian Open... wait, Nadal won that as well. It's been 7 years since Serena won the French Open. They don't win everything.

Bummer. I did not get to see that part, we were sitting outside at a pub and the guys were keeping track of the scores on their phones.
