Spurs' Richard Jefferson Calls Off $2 Million-Dollar Wedding

Smart move. Better to dump the albatross now than lose half in a divorce.

I'm trying to understand why this is being congratulated confused Deciding not to marry is fine, but the 11th hour way he did it is pretty shitty & tacky, is it not? He could have saved the girl some humiliation neutral

better for HIM because he made the right choice (albeit very late). he'll give her a million or two and then she can set her sights on the next baller. all part of the game. he keeps half his $$$$, she gets some $$$$--everybody's happy

Brother's intuition if you're not 100% sure.
The rest of your life is a big step if you're having doubts
not to mention a lavish 2 million dollars for a wedding.
Hell 2 the no.
clapping

I'll admit it. I posted before i actually read the story.
I agree calling off the wedding was one thing but the way he
did it was tacky and not just the way he informed his bride
but his wedding party too who may have invested their time
and money in the wedding. I guess at the end of the day
Richard will sleep better but that was a fine looking chick.

Sorry, but he sounds like a punk ass muthafucka for waiting until hours before the wedding to do this shit and not even notifying most of his guests. Are you guys REALLY saying that nowhere in the weeks and months leading up to this or sometime BEFORE his dumb ass spent $2 milly that he didn't know he didn't want to marry this broad??? Nucca puhlease! talk to the hand

I agree that he should call it off if he's not sure but I think he's a drama queen for waiting hours before the ceremony. It takes a lot of energy to spend $2 million on a wedding and he had ample time before then to make his reservations known. I'm all for avoiding mistakes but there's a right way to do everything and he went out like a bitch IMO. geek lol

Tell It clapping

I think he did the shit on purpose to hurt her. Something else going on here. She could sue him for that shit. I think many a state allows sueing for calling off an engagement as it may be considered a binding contract. Or she couls sue over emotinal distress or something.

Maybe like this here:

This is the bullshit I was thinking of when I read this shit. And if you saw the thread I started about that madness you'd know I was really heated. pissed Moreso at Carrie's dumb ass for marrying him after all that mess. And I'm sure that if Richard comes a-calling this heffa will jump into his arms and marry him too. rolleyes

Possible reasons for calling off the nuptuals

1. He found out she a slut and banged his best friend Pookie whom everybody knows is a bonafide manHo.

2. He met somebody at the club the night before and she doesn't do married men.

3. He spent the entire night being mesmerized by Nate Dog singin "it aint no fun if the homies can't have none"

4. He's gay

5. He found out she's gay

6. He found out the Rev is gay

7. His momma said "don't u marry that heffa!"

8. He looked at his bank account and said "Aw Hell Nah!"

9. He's a bigamyst and didn't want to get caught with a fourth wife.

10. He had a very interesting 3-way phone conversation with Hugh Heffner and Wilt Chamberlain

biggrin

No, I'm not saying that at all. My first comment was that I'm all for getting out if that's what's right, but this mf knew something was off WAYYYYY before the day of the wedding. Give me a break! He should have put all this shit on hold when he was having doubts. He should have followed his gut when there was time to handle this shit with less shock, spectacle & humiliation.
