And I hate to admit it, but...

and

(Not for the sex, actually. The overall art direction and '70s softcore porn/ funk soundtrack just make it a really fun retelling.)

Sorry I missed this thread the first time around when I was away on vacation. I'm always up for talking about movies.

Anyway, my best movies are very different from the ones I've seen the most that I can almost quote.

Best five:

Elizabeth (1998)
Queen Margot (1994)
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (2000)
Brotherhood Of The Wolf (2001)
Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)

(I love period pieces.)

Top five films I've seen the MOST:

Purple Rain (1984) - Seen it over 30x
Under The Cherry Moon (1986) - At least 13x
Grease (1978) - Around 9x
Eyes Wide Shut (1999) - Watch this one every Christmas
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) - Watch it every holiday season also

I don't get attached to movies like that boxed
I'm not really a repeat watcher, apart from maybe Fifth Element, Purple Rain and Wall-E hmmm but they aren't the best things I've ever seen, rather they give me some amount of pleasure that is repeatable even on subsequent viewings.

Those top three movies I've seen the most were all before the age of 20. Now that I'm older I don't watch movies repeatedly that much either.

Huh. Go figure. I watch more movies repeatedly than I did as a child. I'd rather read. Still do but I love movies.

Back then I'd just watch the same handful of films over and over. I see a lot more different movies now, just not repeatedly--except for holiday films. Eyes Wide Shut, Batman Returns, Morvern Callar, Nadja and The Nightmare Before Christmas get seen every Christmas season.

Jotting down "Chameleon Street."

I forgot to mention "Putney Swope." It was subversive and surreal. And, hilarious.

I want to make my own soundtrack! I already have most of the songs played in the film, but still need one or two more.

The funniest black comedy ever.
It's one I watch at least annually. Just because.
