Downtown San Jose---Then And Now

Here are some pics of downtown San Jose in 1975,right next to recent pics of the same areas. You can see how much SJ has changed since then!

These pictures are awesome. I lived in San Jose in 1975 and I'm still here. Crazy how it's changed.

A question: what was downtown SJ like in the disco era (1978-79)? Do you know the names of any discos back then?

Oh yeah. The one we used to go to was Studio 47 near Market St. I can't think of any other ones right now.

I went there a long time ago. I remember the food to be pretty good. My fave places to go eat are HENRY'S HIGH LIFE (simple steak menu and that's it). Oh sooooo good. I also love to eat at Willow Street Pizza. Bill's is fun for brunch.(Willow St.). AND my favorite greasy spoon, MINI GOURMET on Bascom Ave.

Wow....now I'm hungry.

On Saturday evening,me and some friends went to a bar right next to Original Joes. There was some boxing fight going on and we went there to watch it.This bar is almost "hidden"...lol...you won't see it from the street. You gotta walk inside a building, then down some stairs to find it.
