Woman seeking child support from Keanu Reeves says she's been through hell at 18:41 on July 6, 2009, EDT.
By Trevor Pritchard, THE CANADIAN PRESS BARRIE, Ont. - The woman seeking a DNA sample from actor Keanu Reeves said Monday that her family deserves compensation if he fathered of any of her children - an untested paternity claim that the star's lawyer flatly denied. Karen Sala said she and her four grown children had been "through hell and back" in her fight for millions in child and spousal support from the star of "The Matrix." However, Lorne Wolfson, the Hollywood star's Toronto-based attorney, said he believes the case will be swiftly dismissed. Sala, 46, of Barrie, Ont., filed legal documents in May seeking that Reeves be ordered to undergo a DNA test. Both she and Wolfson made a brief appearance Monday in family court, where a case conference was set for Aug. 20. Sala alleges she carried on a sexual relationship with Reeves before, during, and after her troubled marriage. She said she believes Reeves may have fathered one or more of her four children, now between the ages of 20 and 25. None of her allegations have been proven in court. "Mr. Reeves' position is that the claims are totally frivolous, that he never had an intimate relationship with Ms. Sala, that the children are not his children," Wolfson said outside court. "This case should be dismissed at the earliest opportunity." Court documents show Sala is seeking $3 million per month in spousal support, retroactive to November 2006, as well as $150,000 per month in child support, going back to June 1988, in addition to the DNA test. Reeves' spokespeople have denied the star even knows her. That denial has become a "form of embarrassment" for Sala, who on Monday maintained her version of events. "The truth is a strange thing, and sometimes no one's prepared for it. And it will come out," she said outside court. "You have to have faith." Sala refused to say why she didn't file her suit against Reeves when her children were younger. But she did say she notified Reeves' legal team before her youngest child turned 18. Sala also said she had no qualms about asking for financial compensation. "I've been through hell and back. The kids have been hell and back," said Sala. "Why not? They deserve it." Wolfson said Sala had yet to provide any evidence to back up her "totally frivolous" accusations. In a recent court filing, Sala said she had a photo taken of Reeves at her home in 2006. Wolfson said he'd yet to see any evidence of the photo. While the 44-year-old Reeves was born in Lebanon, he lived in Toronto in the 1980s before moving to Hollywood. In addition to "The Matrix" trilogy, he has also appeared in "Speed," "The Devil's Advocate," and "Constantine." Sala has said she's known Reeves since she was nine and that she launched the suit to seek closure. ©The Canadian Press, 2009 Calling Maury Povich!!! Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! this seems very suspect. the amounts that she is claiming are crazy. how can she claim spousal support when she was already married? and 150,000 a month. it must be really expensive to raise kids in canada. [Edited 7/7/09 6:27am]

The amount of money, especially the money she wants for herself, is ridiculuos. I know there are different laws from country to country and varying laws from state to state but I still find all these child support demands ridiculously high.
That aside, this woman sounds a bit crazy to say the least. Keanu Reeves has been through a lot of trouble in his life and if he KNOWS that those kids can´t be his, he should sue that woman. Do you disagree or are you wondering whether Keanu Reeves is the father of those children ? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I dont know if the kids are his sons...especially with 3 Million a month.....to make it liable I would have at least said a couple thousands and left it at that .. start at maybe like $9,000 for damages and the rest of the money will follow IF INDEED he did father any children would be for the courts to give her what she deserved.....BE SMART if you are going to gold dig at least. Wouldn't a dna test just simply prove one way or the other?
It sucks he'd have to do it just to prove he's not the father, but it would resolve the issue. I'm firmly planted in denial

Not saying its right, that's just how it is. i agree that if he is the father that they should have had the same standard of living as him, but if this was about paternity why wait so long? the kids are reared, whats done is done.

Would he still have to pay ongoing child support even though the kids are all grown adults now? If not then it seems to me that she's really just digging for a big payout and she waited til the kids were all grown in order to keep the money for herself. After all, the claim doesn't say whether she still enjoys a relationship with her children, if paternity were to be proved then would they even see a penny of it? I'm not stopping. Keanu fathered possibly multiple children with this woman -- some while she was still married?
If her claim proves true, I wonder if she'll be planning to split some of that back child and "spousal" support with her ex-husband, who, in at least 3 of the kids' earlier years, would have shared in parenting. Moreover, I'm wondering if she'll be willing to repay the appropriate portion of the monies she probably claimed from her ex since their divorce. [Edited 7/7/09 13:29pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
