I was actually a big fan of his. I really was. As a pitchman, he was a consummate professional. I was heavy into sales at one point, had read all the books and stuff, and had noticed early on that Billy Mays was hitting all the sales points. He's what you'd refer to in sales as "a closer". I would notice his hand gestures and marvel at how he'd literally pull you into him as he's selling you the product. He was very skillful in that way. Then he'd just keep coming at you, eliminating all reasons for you to NOT buy this product, lol. By the time he got done screaming at you, telling you how great this product was, you HAD to buy it, lol. And I had read his bio somewhere online, and learned how he had been trained by the best. So yeah, I was a fan. I thought he was a real pro.

But yeah, I get where he was loud and annoying, lol. But he got my attention, and probably could have sold me anything, lol.
