Paul and I have had many chats with each other on yahoo, and a few on the phone.
He is a guy quick to laughter, and rarely to criticism. He's genuine. And everybody knows genuine is hard to come by. We've had some really deep, heartfelt conversations and we've even rambled about seemingly meaningless things. I remember when he and I used to discuss which hair products where best for hair. He expressed that he couldn't understand why anyone would use the cheap drug store stuff and not a TIGI product like the Bed Head line. At that time we were both sporting faux-hawks and with my course Asian Hair, and his overly masculine Italian hair, we both knew... KNEW... that a high end hair product line was not just preferable in maintaining the right look, but absolutely essential. Of course, talk of hair naturally leads to conversations about cologne, of which Paul alway shad terrific insights and opinions. He was the one that turned me on to Kenneth Cole black long before it started being the cologne EVERYBODY had bought. Always a step ahead of the crowd, Paul was a source of many of my fashion decisions. He was an inspiration. Even when he recommended specific lines of products for niche' items or really expensive items, I still appreciated his input. I would have not known anything about the TUMI line of luggage if not for Paul. He's bought me wonderful things like Burt's Bees (long before it was chic to be green with your cosmetic products), and of course LUSH soaps and shampoos. In short, he's a real doll. I hope one day to find myself back in Tampa, and to continue my friendship with him and his beautiful wife, who'm I could write a novel about as far as the levels of respect and admiration I have for her. I need to stop. I've said to much. | |
