a question about recently purchased cigarettes...

so, if you smoke currently i have a question for ya, my mom was over tonight and she said to me, "damn, my cigarettes keep going out. i dont know whats up with that" i looked over at my friend who i had just said that to earlier in the day about mine.

we smoke totally different brands, different companies all together.

i have to say it makes me a little nervous since now the FDA can go in there and find out exactly whats in these things - maybe there was something in there that was really bad and we weren't supposed to know about it shrug

have you noticed this at all?

Girl, what the hell you think is in there? Plain tobacco leaves rolled up and put in paper? There is formaldehyde (which is used with corpses) and all sorts of cancer causing crap...There is plenty of "really bad" in it.

Dunno about the US-but the UK in some areas-you have to be careful whare you buy your ciggies.....Big stores-cool. Smaller independant shops-you have to make sure they are not fakes from china which taste like crap-and go out.....you can usually tell if you compare the packaging-theres always a flaw.and before someone says it-i know its bad for me so i should stop,

I actually think it was some kind of legislature that made it manditory for cig companies to do something to the paper to make them go out when they are not being smoked. they are called FSC (fire safe cigarettes) It's for our own protection rolleyes so when folx fall a sleep with a cig it doesn't burn the house down.
"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

Actually...there are chemicals in most cigarettes (the paper, in particular) that keep them burning. An "untreated" cigarette will go out if left sitting in an ashtray, because it won't draw in sufficient oxygen on its own to stay lit.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yah the packet does state that smoking exposes U to over 40 harmful chemicals that damage blood vessels, body cells and the immune system and one of these chemicals is arsenic so go figure huh.
