It is important to me that children grow up around animals, learn to respect them and know how to act around them without being fearful.

Still, 42 percent of pet owners have taken a pet on vacation, with dogs more likely to accompany the family than cats. Dog owners were also more likely to take their pets to work (21 percent) or somewhere the animal wasn't allowed (18 percent).

I don't know about this one.
If you're not flying, it's waaaaay cheaper to take them than board them. lol
I'd totally take Lola and Bogart if we rented a place at the shore or if we had a vacation home.

Also the giving pets "human" names.
What's a human name anymore? Apple, Bronx, Lexus? confused lol

My dog is part of the family, he is fed, bathed and brushed often and given much love and hugz. The difference is I live inside and he lives outside in the backyard. I don't like the smell of dog in the house and all that fur he sheds is messy and unhygienic. One of my friends has 3 cats and they're always indoors and I prefer to not visit her at her house because of the stench and using febreeze does not work.

I still don't understand why peeps don't leave their pets behind with friends or sitters whilst on vacation instead of putting their pets through the trauma of flight travel. Here in Oz pets have to be in the cargo hold and they have very small hearts so it can kill them from the fright alone. I've seen it happen.
