Anyone ever heard of this?



This advice was sent by a retired State Farm agent! This system
has been tried and it works in every state.

If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red light, or
whatever the case may be, you're going to get points on your
license and a surcharge on your auto insurance. This is a method
to insure that you DO NOT get the points.

When you get your fine, send in a check to pay for it. If the fine
is $79.00 make the check out for $82.00, some small amount over the
fine. The system will then have to send you back a check for the
difference. However, here is the trick: DO NOT CASH THE REFUND
CHECK! Throw it away!

Points are not assessed to your license until all Financial
Transactions are complete. If you do not cash the check, then the
transactions are NOT complete. The system has received its money
and is satisfied and will no longer bother you.

This information comes from an unmentionable computer company that
sets up the standard databases used by every state.

No one can pull that off here, it is impossible. The fines go to one department and demerit points are controlled by another department. If you fail to pay, you are given one chance before an arrest warrant is issued for failure to pay and demerit points are automatically deducted whether the fine is paid or not.

You know, I just take Snopes as gospel. Who's to say they're not wrong!

Just take defensive driving and call it a day.

1) I took a defensive driving class after getting a moving violations ticket...what the instructor told us is, your insurance does NOT go up, unless the insurance company actively searches for any violations when your policy comes up for renewal. Therefore if you stay with the same company, they never check. It's only when you go to a new company that an active search is performed.
2) The send a check for more, and don't cash the refund check is not true. It's just not true. Pay your fine, do the time and next time be more careful

If they send you a picture of you running a red light, send them a picture of the money. I'm never getting my licencse
