Which mean more to you, your family or your friends?

Friends. In some instances, some of my family are my friends.

The members of my family who I was closest to have passed, so I am thankful I have friends in my life who I can talk to about my sorrows. It's not that my family does not care at all, but not that much either .

I would have to go with family. I only have a handful of friends and they are just as close as my family.

Right now I'd have to say friends because my family thinks I'm Satan's own...

Definitely family. We are close and love each other dearly.

I have learned that some folks that you think are your friends...are not.

I've really come to value my family over the past several years. Despite how they frustrate me sometimes, they really do mean a great deal to me

I'm not sure saying one "means more" to me than the other since they both mean the world to me...but yeah, family has been there with me every single second of my life, supported me with unwavering faith, and has given me my sense of optimism, my sense of humor and my sense of empathy. You sometimes question who your real friends are, but I never question who is family.

My friends give me expansion; my family gives me foundation. My life would be fruitless without both.

In terms of primacy, though, I suppose I'd have to go with those who've proven more constant, and in my own life that's my family.

I would say both. My friends are family too.

As others have said, my friends ARE my family. There's no putting one above the other.

Family. My in-laws count as some of my best friends actually - how's that for a stroke of luck!

My family.

i don't really have much family left to claim - i'm not in contact with my dad's side of the family; meanwhile, my mom's side of the family was really small, and my mom and my grandma both died within less than a year of each other, so that pretty much made "family" as i knew it extinct. my friends are my family now, and i have a strong enough sense of my mother's memory that i oddly don't feel "orphaned" or without blood family.

Depends how you define "family", doesn't it? I have friends I consider family, and biological relatives I never speak to.

For me, anyone I'm especially close to is my family.
