The man I'm seeing said he saw a guy in his 60's out with a much younger girl that he assumed was in her 20's or 30's. He said in his opinion the girl wasn't attractive at all. The man was strutting around like he was it though because I guess he thought he was hot stuff because he had gotten this young girl to go out with him. He told me that when he saw them he thought to himself that not everyone was lucky enough to have such a cute and sweet woman in their life the way he did.

That made me smile for days. Actually I'm still smiling over it.

A nursing student I was tutoring in biology said, "you're going to be a great doctor, and nurses will love working with you." I thought that was really nice. One of my big professional goals is to have a great working relationship with nurses, because they are the ones who actually run things. lol

I also had a couple of students last quarter tell me I was the best "biology teacher" they'd had, which doesn't speak well for their actual biology teachers, but it was still nice.

my wife wrote this for me the other day

mushy

When I met Christopher, it was clear that he was an incredibly involved parent to his two children. His life was dedicated to teaching them, disciplining them, making them strong, nurturing them and providing the best life possible. It totally turned me on.

When he met my daughters, they immediately warmed to his strong, funny, gentle personality. See, their biological father had become addicted to drugs when they were very small and had been out of their lives for years. No child support, no birthday presents, no presence at school events, no nothing.

When we decided to get married, he asked the children how they felt about him adopting them and becoming their legal father. All four children responded with a unanimous DUH, do it already!

It hasn't always been easy for him to deal with four crazy ragamuffins making noise, ruining his house, knocking over his surround sound speakers, losing their house keys, eating up all his food, running up all his bills, and making his hair turn grey. But he loves each and every one of them with a fierceness that brings tears to my eyes, and a strength that breaks my heart.

Happy Father's Day.
