-Coming to America (1988): The Eddie Murphy film was co-stared by his best friend Arsenio Hall. But, originally, another friend of his, his 'Black Pack' buddy Keenen Ivory Wayans was to co-star. I think Keenen may have done a slightly better job. He could have done way more characters than Arsenio.

-House Party (1990): Another famous rap duo, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince were to play the two main characters. I really don't know how this would have turned out.

-Rush Hour (1998): Martin Lawrence was the original choice for Detective Carter. Later, Dave Chappelle was considered after Lawrence turned down the job. Martin would have killed this role, don't know about Chappelle though.

I think the script for Sister Act floated around Hollywood for a long, long time and was at one time going to star Bette Midler. I love Bette, but Sister Act was a good role for Whoopi.

Nicolas Cage was attached to Superman Returns at one time. I don't think that would have been good at all, but I'm not sure it would have been any worse than the movie that ended up being made.

I've heard Francis Ford Copolla had to fight hard to get Al Pacino as Michael in The Godfather. The studio wanted Robert Redford, I think.

Tom Selleck was supposed to play Indiana Jones but couldn´t do so due to contractual obligations.So they took Harrison Ford instead.

And James Caan and Burt Reynolds were supposed to play Rocky but Stallone remained strong despite a 360.000 $ offer, and the rest is history.

Al Pacino was supposed to play Rambo at some point but turned the role down.
