these internet scammers are the scum of the earth. A friend's dad who suffered severe dementia (and eventually alzheimer's) thought he'd won a lottery and lost 1000s of dollars.

scammers who prey on the elderly are the worst kind. My Aunt who is 80, lives with me, she has her own landline for her personal use. Scammers have gotten a wind of the fact that she has once or twice given to "charities" that call soliciting for donations. Her phone is constantly ringing off the hook, drives me crazy! I have to keep reminding her not to send money to whatever "charity" of the day is calling.
