How do YOU stay interesting? How do YOU stay interesting?
Look. I know some people are still interesting and sexy with age, because of their looks and money (George Clooney), their girls (Hugh Hefner), or their threads on www.prince.org (Imago). But there is something that has been creeping around my mind for some years now, but it finally came to light when I turned 17 (): How am I going to stay interesting, funny and intelligent when I get older and surrounded by adults who do all the things and thinking I do now? I won't be "ahead of my age" anymore and I won't be "cute" anymore and I sho'nuff won't be "sexy and dirty" anymore because I was talking about pussy juice at the age of twelve already! Nobody will give me 10€ because they are proud of me for being the first one in Kindergarten to be able to read and write! Nowadays, when I read at school, no-one tells me how brilliant my articulation is. I won't be a super-talent in music anymore, because the older the people I meet get, the more musicians I meet! All this is bothering me and I'm seriously considering either staying sexy and becoming rich, or surrounding myself with loads of hot women (I'm working on that already), or starting stupid, sense-less threads on www.prince.org (this is one of my first attempts of doing so). How do you stay interesting with age? What do you do, so that people keep on thinking you are something special? Or do we all have to accept that with age there comes an "average" life, an "average" personality and people will see us as "average" until they find out how to benefit from talking to us and showing interest? What talent or part of your personality made it easier for you to impress people when you were younger, that people see as normal and average now that you're older? I hope this thread will be a success because of my still young age.

As for the answer on myself, peeling all the layers off to get to the genuine self and then putting them back on in different ways to illustrate that self in brilliant ways. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Ex-Moderator | awww...
I don't know that I ever WAS all that interesting. And I definitely don't do anything purposely to be considered interesting now. Intersting is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose. Just be yourself and all will work out in the end. It always does. |

That's something fundamental, of course. But is that always enough?

Damn man U need help.
How old are U? 17? And U are worrying about this shit... Dude I'm 40 years old and I'll tell U something, by the time U get 2 my age U will have realised life isn't about impressing others, it's about impressing U'reself. I could give a 4k about what others think of me. As long as the ones I love, are loving me back, I have no problems and the rest of the world can fall in2 line or fall by the wayside. Not a problem. Style, ain't lusting after someone because they're cool, Style, Is loving U'reself until everyone else does 2.

But if you're concerned with how you will remain interesting, you do give a shit. At least a little. It might seem fundamental to you not to, but a lot of folk really care ( right wrong or indifferent) about how they are percieved by others.

I dig that. I stay interesting by not thinking about if I am interesting, I love myself, and its important to surround yourself with people on the same page, somewhat. Life in general. I know my qualities and I know my bad habits, I do try to work on those, but all you can be in this life is yourself. It did take me a few years to understand that. And with that said my favorite quote is knowledge is power. Try to learn about as many things as you possibly can, use it to your advantage and continue to grow.

Talking about 'pussy juice' at the age of 12 is not interresting, sexy or even dirty - it's fucking disgusting.

Wait, I have learned something from this thread: I don't give a shit! If you don't give a shit then why did you take the time to make a thread about worrying about being interesting? Does not compute.

People either like you and find you interesting - or they don't. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Damn, I wanted this to rather be a light-hearted, funny thread about nostalgia and not an "I seek help, I'm so insecure!", psychoanalysis-thread.

I was rather bored and wondered about how the world would see me when I get older than I am worried about whether I really will be interesting. I realised that it's difficult to find sarcasm in what a 17-year-old writes, but I'm really not as desperate as I wanted this thread to make me look .
