I absolutely LOVED this movie - saw it in 3-D at the Castro Theater (and saw the organ show there for the first time!) It made me laugh, and I've needed to laugh!

i liked the first half hour and the last fifteen minutes.

the middle seemed really stagnant to me, like they cared more about moving the story along than they did in making it interesting or entertaining.

i didn't dislike it, but it's my least favorite of all the pixar stuff i've seen so far.

Because i live in the darkest backwaters of England we have to wait until October before this is released

It was OK, I guess, but I wouldn't call myself a fan.
I don’t really like Disney movies as a rule and this pretty much fell into that typical Disney kids movie category.

Like Anxy, I liked some of the beginning and end stuff. I got teary here and there for sure.

But mostly, meh.

Its such a unique movie. It MUST be seen in 3D. You really feel a rollercoaster ride of emotions because the characters are so well developed. MUST SEE!

My girlfriend went to see it yesterday. The 3-D effects were giving her a headache so she had to sleep. She woke up when the credits were rolling. Sad!

I did not personally watch UP. But, my son took my 3 girls opening weekend, they LOVED it!

yay! I went with my nephews,my Mom,and my two sisters to see it last week. I cried when he realized that Ellie was dieing. My avatar is Kevin the bird.

It was cute, but not as good as Monsters vs Aliens.

Russell is a great little character though.

The love-lost part at the beginning was very touching, and adds more meaning to his intentions to go on the 'journey'. The characters he meets along the way are interesting enough, and the pace of the movie is pretty good.

I loved the alphamale dog's messed up 'sissy' voicebox.

Saw it today in 3D and it was just as good as the first time but what really struck me was the short they show at the beginning, Partly Cloudy.

What a sweet, sweet little story and the characters are ADORABLE!!! To all of you who've seen UP, let's discuss Partly Cloudy and how great that was!!!

here's my problem with the midsection of "Up": you basically have three human characters, a bird, and a bunch of dogs with voice boxes. and, if you want to be artsy-fartsy about it, you have a house and a dirigible. that's your cast. that's all you have to work with. and while that sounds really interesting, there's only so much you can do with that combination of elements, and even if you think there's TONS you could do with that mix, it didn't feel to me like they took any of the ideas as far as they could have.

look at the invincibles or WALL-E. stuff happened in both of those movies that i didn't expect, and where i felt like the stories took a turn around some unexpected corners. i didn't feel like we got those kinds of thrills in "Up". i feel like getting through the whole deal with the mean explorer and his dogs was kind of a chore that we had to get through, because, well, that's all they have for us in terms of a conflict, so we have to sit through it. i mean, okay, it was colorful and swashbuckling and whatever, but i still think it was static. i actually dozed a bit.


but, to be fair, i doze a bit through almost every movie i see in the theater.

The stork was so kind hearted and wonderful. Even though he had the toughest job of all the storks, he didn't abandon his friend the cloud just cause times were tough. Instead, he adapted and the way in which the story was told made it all the sweeter.
I cracked up with the porcupine and the electric eel babies.

My sis and I grew up hating the stork stories (our parents were very candid about where we 'came from'), because it was myth building at it's finest. Of course, we actually bought off on the Santa Myth though.
So when I initially saw the beginning of this short film, I thought I was going to hate it, until I realized the story isn't about the 'myth' so much as the friendship between the two 'oddballs'.
