Now I love the O but it saddens me of what it's become. The city has ALOT of history Wow, I went to school right near Seminary across the street from the cemetery... Did you ever get a chance to go to T's Wauzi Records back when Eastmont was actually a mall?? That's where I got my first rap albums back in '86-87... It's progressively gotten worse but I used to love shopping at that mall for Ellesee sneaks and Troop jackets... fuck, I'm dating myslef right about now... When I moved to Oakland in '99, T's Wauzi was still around and I REALLY wanted to go but never got the chance too. And Eastmont....my mom told me how Eastmont used to be THE mall, now that place is just a building and Bayfair is going that route 
Went to Bayfair 2 weeks ago with my mom and it was like a ghost town. All this time since '04 I thought Bayfair had Hilltop Mall and Sunvalley mall beat. I told my mom and brother "Ya know, I think I may have misjudged Hilltop..." "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world." |
