Does shaking in your sleep while snoring, then go totally silence for a minute or so, then come back with a huge snore mean you have sleep apnea?
(sorry for the run-on sentence) Say it's just a dream...

is it uncomfortable? can you move around freely or...? And sometimes, the air is a bit overpowering and can get uncomfortable. BUT..... when that sucker works right, it is the best sleep you'll ever have in your whole life. The first time I wore it, I sleep 4 hours but it felt like eight.

ZombieKitten said: Vendetta1 said: There is also a dental device you can get instead or you can have him wear a chin strap. It holds his mouth closed and keeps his tongue in place so it doesn't fall back and cause him to choke.

All of those things helped a little bit with my snoring but not as much as the ENT's had hoped. I had a sleep study done 6 months after my septoplasty/sinus surgery and I showed mild sleep apnea at the time. I was underweight back then and it was suggested that I have another sleep study in 5 yrs. to see if it had progressed any. The worst part about the septoplasty surgery was getting the splints removed. I was not prepared for that to happen 2 weeks post op. My father has severe sleep apnea and has been on the CPAP for many years. I have always snored and have never been over weight, until now but I am pregnant. I'm so sorry to hear that you're still experiencing sleep apnea, even after the surgeries...hopefully it won't get worse. And pregnancy weight- gain, I wouldn't think, would affect it. Hopefully, all goes well for you when you're retested. Thanks! The pregnancy is causing me to snore more because I get into certain positions and cannot move. I am like a turtle when I get on to my back now. I do feel better and can tell a difference during the day time since my septum was corrected. I breathe easier and do not get as much nasal congestion. I doubt I will be restested any time soon. Now that the baby is on the way, it will be all about him now. Maybe when I get old and hubby has bad enough of my snoring, he will send me to the dr to have another check. My ENT said that because of the way that my face, mouth & head developed, being small, it will always cause me a problem. There is not much I can do about that anyways. Just find ways to live with it. I hope you find relief.

I remember the turtle position well I can understand how you feel it's all about the baby for now... but don't wait too long to have yourself checked out again. Afterall, I'm sure you'd like to be around for him later in his life as well. I have a small mouth too and didn't even develop all my teeth cuz there was room for only 30 and not 32 teeth...my ENT said that's why he couldn't believe God gave me such a long uvula and huge tonsils And actually that's why I have so many problems as well. Thanks, maybe someday I'll find complete relief...but I'm over half-way there, so that's better than nothing. I have chronic rhinitis, so they told me my nasel passages will never feel complete relief, even if they do nose surgery. ` [Edited 6/16/09 18:18pm]

Finally my ENT after the surgeries told me there was not much else he could do for me. I have many allergy/sinus problems so I just try to deal with those the best I can. There are many things that I hope I do not pass on to the baby, my small mouth & nasal/sinus passages is one of them.
