I think this is more about Black Business owners being available to a predominantly black market, it's not that things they are selling are any different.

It's about support.

Most of the items I see are way over priced. Why would I pay $60 for an framed 8x10 of Dereck Jeter and A-Rod? It's not even autographed, nor is there anything special about it.

They could have worked with the folks that did the baby phat website or those who helped design HSN. I bet you don't even get your product shipped on time.
They will get some criticism alright, they should have tested it out first and got some feedback. But then maybe this is the result of that. I dunno.

it sounds basic, but i was watching a documentary on the market of black hair care, and you'd be surprised at who's running the show

and it probably looks the way it does because opportunities weren't given to the black business owners until now..

Why half-ass do something when you could do it the right way the first time? This is definitely one of my biggest criticisms of black-owned businesses (as a whole). I always try to support black-owned businesses whenever I can. However, I find that a lot of us are all about the dollar and not about the business itself. It's sad.

I pray that this site succeeds and does better. They won't, though, if they keep trying to sell bad 8x10 photos for $60.
