a question

imagine. you're in a bar with someone, it's about 03:00 AM,
closing time.

you've been talking to someone for a few hours and as you
leave you arrange to hook up tomorrow.

now. if it's friday, 03:00 AM (so technically it's saturday)
and i say "let's see each other here tomorrow", what day do
you show up?

saturday or sunday?

no, i didn't. the whole things was kind of complicated anyway.

i introduced myself to someone i've seen around for 6 months or
so now. he's seen me too and we've said "hi" in passing etc.

last week i finally mustered up enough courage to go over and
just introduce myself. we hit it off splendidly and talked for
about 2 hours straight until the bar closed.

by that time we had arranged the above mentioned date for the
day after. in fact, he was the one who asked me what i would
be doing the next day and suggested we'd hook up again.

he then walked me to my car and we kissed a bit but he took it
too far way too quick and so i told him "wow, look, i think
you're a very interesting, and nice, handsome guy but this is
way too fast and i'm more interested in getting to know you".

he said he was very sorry and that he had a bit too much to
drink and he hoped he hadn't scared me off or anything. and
then we stood there laughing and cracking jokes for another
15 minutes until i said goodbye, see you tomorrow and went
home.

next day, no sign of him lol

part of me knows he probably only tried to get me to go home
with him but i also want to believe that he's better than that.
why arrange a date, why the jokes and nice talk after i had
blown him off?

people are so strange.

now i don't know if i run into him again if i have to just ask
why he didn't show up or wether i should not say anything at
all?

Saturday.

But I wouldn't show up probably. I hate formally arranged dates. They're either going to need to let me take them home right then and there so I can tear that ass up, or risk the chance of me being in a different mood come that evening.

Sorry you got stood up. If it's any consolation, you're a gorgeous guy, Lars, and I'm certain you didn't get stood up because of lack of desire or disapproval of your looks--you're beautiful. You probably got stood up cause of your personality or because you're a bad person or something unimportant like that.

When I visit Amsterdam this winter, I'll completely disregard your personality batting eyes

Yup, Saturday.

By all means ask why he didn't show up.

I think we sometimes avoid doing that because we don't want to look desperate, or admit out loud that we were stood up. But I think it shows backbone. We have every right to expect people to do what they say they will.

I'd say, "hey, what happened to you that day? Thought we were gonna meet up the next day!" Say it with a sense of humor so you don't look like it crushed you or anything.
It's what you make it.

that's not strange...that's just being a guy. if you see him again just act like nothing is wrong and that you weren't affected by his not showing up. he will be back with some story. believe that. now if you still want it then go for it but I would pass. you sound too good for him anyway. lol
