It's an all in one remote, you can program it to control everything in your home theater, so if you need to change inputs and such to work the DVD it does it all with one touch.

I had one of those - they're really good, but make sure you programme the right model numbers in. My hubs is an Audio Visual Installer and he keeps upgrading shit like this - it drives me nuts! Just when I get used to using one he changes it for another - the latest (a touch panel one) is sat gathering dust as he hasn't programmed it properly

But, yeah.. In answer to your original question...

ooooo, that's a harmony one! Lucky you! I was going to get that model, but ended up going for a cheaper one, I still use up to 4 remotes.

Yea, I thought about the touch panel, the Harmony 1100 I think it is, but it's all touch screen, no buttons. I didn't want to have to stare at the remote to do things. This has a touch screen, but with "activities" that show up, so if you want to watch tv, you just touch "watch tv" and everything changes. Pretty cool.

BTW. This remote totally kicks ass.

Rather than using components separately, you set up activities and tell the remote what needs to happen to make those activities work. Not only does it turn everything needed on, it also switches inputs and turns unneeded components off.
