5500.00 of work done, and 6000.00 on two sets of braces. need about 1000.00 more (replace two old crown on my molars). used a hard tooth brush and no my gum around one of my bottom teeth is receeding. 500.00 to add layer to that part of the tooth!
my teeth are straight and white cause of $$$...or else, daymn they would be horrible

eek

That's a lot of money. I'm hoping to get all of mine sorted out for less than $1500. lol

You can get a crown here from around $75. If you need a root canal first I think it's about $90. I know an English guy who flies out here just to get his teeth done. He also gets facelifts and stuff while he's here too. Dude's 50+ and he looks about 40, all for a couple of grand. lol Still, I'm struggling to come up with just the $1500, or rather, struggling to justify it.

I am 33 and have got great teeth, never lost one have all 32, infact bottom wisdom teeth are still partially erupted. One of my top wisdoms has a huge hole and needs extraction, but rest are white and shiny. And yes I come from a family and genetic background known for bad dental health (English/Irish/Polynesian) biggrin
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Lawd! My teeth are so clean. I use mouthwash, a regular toothbrush that I use with some Colgate toothpaste half-half with some baking soda and herb Thai toothpaste, plus I use one of those electric toothbrushes. Despite this my teeth are jankity and falling apart. This last couple of months I've noticed one of my front lower teeth has started leaning back, and even worse, it's going darker and darker and now stands out horribly. Is it just dying or something??? Anyways, I'd sort it out right now but I'm trying to save up to just get a whole lot of them done, say 16 crowns on all the suckers that show when you smile (or would show if I ever did smile).

Teeth going bad is depressing. There's something worse about it than other ailments you can get.

Who else here doesn't have perfect teeth? I see so many folks with beautiful smiles here, and it's great, but I need some empathy here and to know there are other jankity-toothed muthafuckers out there.

You might want to go to the dentist as you might have some nerve damage to that tooth.

I am one of those lucky colgate-kids who (touch wood) hasn't had to have any dental work in my 37 years apart from having my wisdom teeth out. Although I have noticed lately that my teeth aren't a white as they are, but that comes from having been a smoker on and off for 26 years - I want to get them whitened on my next checkup but have heard that whitened can sometimes cause damage to your teeth so I don't know if I will do it or not.

I always had unusual teeth. I have natural fangs, my canine teeth had to be filed down, about 1/2 of each tooth had to be filed away since they hung out of my mouth. My bottom canines were filed down as well. The dentists were also surprised my secondary teeth are very wide, just as wide as the primaries (the middle ones). People always think I wear dentures or have fake teeth because of my weird smile. shrug Oh well.

I thought I had imperfect teeth because I don't have that Janet Jackson perfectly straight 10 million megawatt 52 teeth kinda smile. They aren't perfectly aligned and hardly straight, although my beau tells me he loves to see me laugh and smile.

Come to find out from the health insurance agent that just left my office, the written report from my dentist says my 38 year old teeth are pristine like a healthy baby horse with nary a need for filling, bridge, crown, implant, or otherwise. I was shocked as hell because I thought for sure I would need a filling or a tooth pull or something. Come to find out, during my examination last week he just kept saying, "this looks good, this looks very good...geek!" So I'm pretty much at the point of, forget about the aesthetics, I have confirmation that if I continue the way I am my teeth will be strong and healthy into old age and I won't have to go into the dentist chair any time soon. That's most important to me. It's a weird to think that there would have to be foreign matter in my mouth just to be able to chew my food or make myself look presentable to others...

Does this mean that if I crack a joke that you think is funny at the bar, you're gong to laugh sort of like a monkey that puckers it's mouth to conceal your teeth thereby looking like one of those people's whose faces are immobile and sort of creep everybody out at the table?

I have nice, straight teeth that are pretty white (never drink coffee or tea, or smoke). Not super-brite (because I've never bleached/whitened them), but the enamel on my front four teeth on top has worn off AND I grind my teeth. I have worn a night guard for about 5 years, but the very bottom tips of my front teeth have chipped off due to the combination of no enamel and grinding. I am very, very self-conscious about it, even though most people probably don't notice. My dentist painted/bonded them last summer and they looked awesome, but after about 4 months that chipped off and I was back to snaggle-teeth. sad

We don't want to do verneers because they are too expensive for my budget ($1400/tooth), and if they crack/break you have to get the entire thing replaced. I went for check-up about a month ago and we are requesting an estimate from my insurance to see how much of a more permanent bond would be covered. I'm afraid it's going to be too much, though.

I have had fillings in 7 molars and one crown in the other since undergrad, but since then I have maintained (no more cavaties or filling replacements). I never had bottom wisdom teeth and my top two were impacted. One came in, but it's not doing any harm so we are leaving it alone. The other one is still impacted.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
