Hands up who doesn't have perfect teeth

wave

Lawd! My teeth are so clean. I use mouthwash, a regular toothbrush that I use with some Colgate toothpaste half-half with some baking soda and herb Thai toothpaste, plus I use one of those electric toothbrushes. Despite this my teeth are jankity and falling apart. This last couple of months I've noticed one of my front lower teeth has started leaning back, and even worse, it's going darker and darker and now stands out horribly. Is it just dying or something??? Anyways, I'd sort it out right now but I'm trying to save up to just get a whole lot of them done, say 16 crowns on all the suckers that show when you smile (or would show if I ever did smile).

Teeth going bad is depressing. There's something worse about it than other ailments you can get.

Who else here doesn't have perfect teeth? I see so many folks with beautiful smiles here, and it's great, but I need some empathy here and to know there are other jankity-toothed muthafuckers out there.

Would you stop being so self-concious about that shit? lol

Lawd, I've gotten to know alot of Brits over the last few years and NONE of them have nice teeth. So whats the big deal panicking about it?

You have a nice stomach and lovely ass. Who wants to lick a persons teeth when they can lick those other things? rolleyes

I have nice teeth, by the way.

Oh and it's far more important to floss the shit out of your teeth than to make sure they're white.

But if you want them to be white, try non fluoride toothpaste (contrary to popular belief flouride yellows teeth), and eat alot of strawberries (a chemical in strawberries whitens teeth).

But above all else, floss. It's the one thing that will make your teeth healthier because healthy teeth start with healthy gums. I have weak gums (thanks to bad genes), so I'm obsessed with flossing.

lol But they bug me, this dark one especially. It's happened so quickly and it's getting worse. I'm cool with everything else about myself physically. I just want to be able to smile naturally with my mouth wide open. I'm not sure I've ever seen what that looks like on me! Besides, it's not just vanity because I have work that needs doing, though it is true I want to wait to get them all done around the same time so I can pick a nice whiter shade for them all. biggrin

Actually I need to find a Thai dentist. Are they nicer than American ones? My dentist scares the shit out of me. He's so mean.

He's really handsome though. So it's kind of disarming while lying flat on my back with bright lights shining in my eyes, my head between his legs, and his cock but inches from my gargling mouth.

I use my new electric toothbrush for that. The bristles go right down between the teeth. And like I said, I mix half and half fluoride toothpaste and baking soda toothpaste with salt and herbs. That should take care of strength and bacteria respectively. In truth though, while I'm trying to keep them from getting worse, it is only that. There's no way I'm going to have these the rest of my life. lol They're on borrowed time.

You're asking the guy starting the thread about having jankity teeth what the dentists are like? lol

I've only ever been to one place and the dentist was a lady. She was very nice. I was going to have a crown done but changed my mind about it in favour of waiting to get more stuff done later.

It's all very cheap in Thailand though, I'll say that much, but then you already knew that. smile

Trust me. Do not trust the claims on toothbrushes and mouth washes.

You. must. floss.

I can't stress it enough. Flouride is not good for your teeth.
There are mouth washes based on salt and tea-tree oil that are just as effective.
If you floss, you can keep those teeth forever.

Oh, I've been meaning to ask you a couple of questions:

1) Is there an organic/natural products store in Bangkok? I only use non chemical alternatives for soaps and shampoos. I also like non-flouride and non-SLS tooth pastes.
2) Are there restuarants that cater to vegetarians and vegans?
3) would you be willing to give me a lap dance in just your underwear?

Depressing subject. pout

My teeth would be PERFECT... except that in 7th grade, I had a BMX accident that knocked my two upper front teeth right out of my head. It was terrible. disbelief I've had two crowns since then. My dentists have been great, and my smile looks fine, but the knowledge has always bugged me.

Nevertheless, don't entirely sweat imperfect teeth. Sometimes they can give a guy character. And you've already got a F.I.N.E. wife, so what's the major setback? lol

I'll only add, though, that if your jammies are actually decaying in your mouth, you wanna get that taken care of ASAP. Screw aesthetics. That can cause dire health problems.

That's the point, I don't want them! I want new, whiter crowns, with them more in line and shaped better while they're at it.

1) Doubtful. You might find some imported US products of that ilk at Villa or Foodland though. What's SLS? I've been buying a couple of toothpastes without fluoride here for a while now. One looks really old-school from a Thai company and makes my mouth feel really clean, but I don't know how good it is really.

2) Can't think of any exclusively veggie or vegan restaurants, but if there are any they'd be around Sukhumwit or Silom, I imagine.

3) Would you still floss if you had only gums and no teeth? Mon's calling to find you a good dentist in advance.

I've got two that have to be pulled because they're broken in half, both in the very back, on opposite sides, and one on the top, one on the bottom.

It all comes down to the fact that I never got around to having my wisdom teeth pulled. After years of pressure building up and causing my teetch to shift slightly, two of them finally gave.

Dentist said they're broken too far down to crown them, so he said to just have them pulled and the wisdom teeth might continue to shift in to replace them.

I think my mother is going to kill me after the thousands she spent on getting them straightened when I was a teenager.

Oh, and I'm a heavy smoker, so they're kind of dingy.

It's such a sexy feeling sigh

My bottom teeth are slightly crooked, but not terribly so.
But I'm always complimented on my smile, so I don't sweat it.

Come to think of it, I need to go get some Crest whitestrips soon.

Oh, that's got to hurt! Good they're all fixed and looking good now though. smile

When I was young one of my upper front teeth wouldn't come down properly so I had to have an operation to cut away some gum and bring it down. Annoyingly it came down a bit further than the other one. After that I had braces and that was going ok until when I got to the point of just wearing the retainer my jaw started growing and they all got messed up again. I was about 16 so I didn't really want the braces back on, though in hindsight I should have. After my braces came off I noticed small lines on some of my teeth and I think using whitening gels since then has weakened my teeth and started making holes out of those lines. I think some of my teeth now are a lost cause so I'm just doing my best with them to keep them going for now until I can get a bunch of crowns.

As for my wife, she needs some work done too, but she can get in line after me. lol She's had some tough times where she was just trying to stay alive and look after herself so looking after her teeth wasn't always top priority and going to a dentist was out of the question, but I have no excuse being a middle class Englishman. All that damn candy as a kid, the problems with the braces and my jaw growing, plus smoking for 4 years and over-use of whitening products, has really done for me. sigh

I have 2 broken teeth too. boxed Opposite sides, one top, one bottom. Both have lost about a third of the tooth. They're like the letter 'L' now, losing a cusp each and a bit more. No pain though. Just have to spend more time cleaning them until I can get them sorted.

Getting a brace here costs $1200 only. I'm not sure my teeth are strong enough for that. It would seem a better option for me to get crowns and get them straightened up in the process.

Have you asked the dentist for his/her recommendation?

You may be thinking your teeth are a lot worse than they are.

But the more info you pile on, the more skewed towards janktaciousness they seem.

Either way, I think you're beautiful and apparently Mon does too.

I haven't, not about getting a lot done, only about doing a couple of crowns and reshaping.

I think my teeth are pretty bad. I keep them really clean, but the damage is done. Some of the teeth are fine, but if they're to match the other crowns they'll need to be done too, right? Since I wouldn't get crowns and not take the opportunity to have them a few shades whiter.

And "floss daily and brush after every meal" is too late now! I've always brushed straight after eating, wherever possible, anyway. It's smoking and whitening that have been the main problems, I think.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I have to ask...

Are English folks' teeth really as bad as the jokes suggest? I've been over there, and I don't recall many commercial-worthy smiles, but I certainly don't recall an inordinate number of bat caves either. lol

I've heard Americans have a bit of an advantage over much of the world where dental health is concerned because of additives to our water. Anyone know about this?

no.

But on average their teeth aren't stellar. They're more stained and discolored than what Americans would be used to. But they're not rotted or falling out.

There are folks with stellar white teeth over there, but not as many as over here.

Quit smoking or quit the drinking too? confuse I'll never quit alcohol altogether. I like beer and wine too much. I just don't drink at home now, only when I go out or go to see our friends. I'm saving about $60 a month on that alone. Tax on alcohol and cigarettes has gone up lately too so the timing is good, not that it wasn't purely my awesome willpower that was the main factor. lol
