If Alan Ball even remotely follows the books, this season will be excellent.
Okay, okay, this season will be excellent regardless. I'm firmly planted in denial

I have to say, Peter didn't bowl me over in season one, but he is looking darned good with the new haircut. But I swear, between him and all the rest of the primo guys throughout this series, it is crystal clear this show is for women and gay guys first. Alan Ball is pulling no punches in the sex appeal department. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

no. I have sucessfully avoided being sucked by this series. We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou

In the beginning I would complain every episode but then come back every week to see what would happen next. Oh and this guy...dumb as a rock but his body doesn't stop.

I hadn't seen these yet! Season 2 looks promising so far. I hope they worked out some of the little annoying things from season 1. I'm dying to know what happened to Lafayette! If you will, so will I

I still teeter. If Lafayette is gone, I don’t feel the need to keep watching. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

If all the adoration is any clue (Buffy inspired academic conferences for goodness sake! ), Buffy is very possibly the more culturally relevant show. It was pretty much a pillar of pop culture for years. True Blood, on the other hand, shoots a bit lower. There's smart political satire, but it's mostly just a fun, campy Southern Gothic soap opera. I like both shows, but to me, True Blood is more like a guilty pleasure show, and more light hearted. Like you said, like a soap opera almost. Buffy is definitely more "culturally relevant" If you will, so will I
