But Dependent Origination states that if you peal the layers of an onion until there are no layers, you'll end up with no onion and no separate 'self. Ergo, there is no such thing as a permanent, separate, 'soul' So fundamentally different despite relatively similar embellishments at the surface. Christianity is big on your own personal salvation, your own personal afterlife, your own personal sins and your own personal atonement. Striving to reach Heaven. Much of Buddhism is centered on the opposite of that - striving for no-self, striving for the end of striving. Yeah.

that tat (as an idea) is less a reference in reference to my faith and moreso a reference to my nickname and a consciousness i want to continue to strive for and eventually obtain...
i've already had plenty people comment on my necklace (which is a buddha)...even tho they usually quote "have no other God before me" failing to acknowledge Buddha is not a deity i know where i place my faith, and i would like to believe God does too, so i'm not worried... i wouldnt imagine buddhist would take offense, but i suppose now is the time to ask huh

SirPsycho said: SupaFunkyOrgangrinderSexy said: You should see it in person. You might fear judging by that hallway shot profile pic? This morning on the train, I saw a gaggle of people outside the doors and started to move my stuff that was in the seat next to me. This old lady gets on and starts waving her hand at my stuff to move it and calmly I tell her I'm moving it and she needs some patience, she started going on and when I grabbed the rest of my stuff she plop her ass down hard and then starts yelling that I almost caused her to have an acccident. I told her she needed to calm the fuck down and she said "you don't know how you're talking to!" and I told her I didn't give a shit then she tried to play the kid card (there were like 50 students, probably 3rd graders) and I told her I didn't give a fuck about the kids, too bad. I may not bite but I'll bark your face off 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I may not bite but I'll bark your face off this i can believe yesterday I left my badge upstairs and went to the guard station to have them look up one of my co-workers extension. One guard turned to the computer and the other guard grabbed her arm to stop her and then dykishly told me: you can just pick that phone up and dial the operator. Um, in the time it took for you to stop her, she could have just given me the information I wanted Well you're just going to have to dial the operator from the phone My first response was calm. Second, not so much So I went to the phone and dialed the operator and then she is still carrying on so I yell back that she's lazy. These 2 ladies are standing there and one of them pulls away like in shock and she says Oh My like in a I'm a ghetto bitch kind of way and I yelled at her Yeah, Oh My. She's LAZY! Then the guard starts yelling that there were people in line and I'm like I work here and I was in line too, HELLO! It just was so ugly but I had no problem or issue going there. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I thought idols of any kind were verboten in Christianity.
