Do you have trouble dealing with authority figures. Some people do.

That is definitely a possibility, if only I could just do what ever I want all the time

Nope never...not sure why...but I am one of those employees that employers love to walk on and I take it. lol

I guess that's why I work from home now, and attending school to do something I love.

Just once, TGIFs. I worked the grill. Thank God, Chef Ramsey (Hell's Kitchen) wasn't my boss. He probably would have fried my butt and then fired me.

Once. When I was 16. I tried to get fired though. My dad got me a summer job stocking grocery store shelves and the hours were overnight. I was working 10pm-5am Friday nights and 11pm - 6am Saturday nights. I was missing everything. So I only did half the stuff they asked me to. I got written up several times before they outright fired me. My dad was too pissed. He said I'd embarrassed him because he made a special request for me to get it. I felt kinda bad, but got over it quickly.

If you have gotten fired from almost every job you've ever had, you might want to consider the possible faults of the common denominator in all of the situations.

I'm just sayin'. shrug

Yep.

I once worked as an editor at a mind-numbingly boring trade publication -- and I was careening through an unmedicated depressive cycle at the time, which made things... um... interesting. confused

My writing was inspired... but it would've WAY better fit some gothic literary journal than a professional landscape design and maintenance magazine. disbelief I always procrastinated, I missed important plane flights for business trips, I sloughed off 95 percent of my deadlines, I'd take 20-minute breaks to go nap in the bathroom, and I only truly cared about breeding the guppies in my office aquarium.

I had the nerve to be slightly offended when my boss took a certain amount of glee in axing me. But years later, I think he'd have been perfectly justified if he punched me in the kidney as he handed me the pink slip. lol

That firing was the best thing for both me and the company. It prompted me to start working on myself, and it allowed them to find someone better suited to the position.

I hate to be blunt, but if you get fired from every job you've had except for 2, I daresay, it may say more about you than the employers! Maybe you are best cut out to be your own boss, but then maybe you'll want to fire yourself!!! Just kidding.

And to answer your question. YES. It was quite shocking but deserved, I suppose. shrug I was a cocky 18 year old. My best friend and I got hired at a big name car rental agency. See, they had this employee reward program and we thought we'd be clever and combine our points for selling frequent renter memberships and thereby win a company paid trip to Disneyland. lol Well, we sold a hell of a lot of memberships, then were accused of 'falsification of documents' and WALKED TO THE DOOR by our bosses. eek

that's hilarious lol

my worst fog-headed faze was spending a couple hours a day playing solitaire on the computer while at work (and that was only a couple of years ago) boxed it would have been the best thing if my boss fired me. thank god I finally found the wherewithal to quit, and then my job life blossomed...after wasting YEARS in that hellhole

I was laid off 2 weeks after doing retail, cause I couldn't do the calculations and shut down properly at the end of the day. I'm good at math, but the totalling was hard and my dad was upset cause his friends owned the place.

Another time, after a week of doing a temp job, I came in the next day and someone else was starting it, cause I was too slow for them when in reality they were demanding and throwing so many tasks on me and I was too slow and careful.

My job right now is very hard but it's in the area of what I studied at school. I'm afraid of getting fired cause things aren't going very well right now, and overall, I'm very unhappy with everything in general.

only once, and thank god i did. i worked for a trainwreck alcoholic freakshow who ran a lighting fixture company out of his home. i felt like i was living in a dickens novel for eight hours a day, but i needed the money. fortunately he fired me in one of his crack hazes and it forced me to find a better job situation ASAP...sometimes that's the kind of kick in the ass you need fate to give you in order to force you out of a bad situation.

I got away from someone like that, although I wasn't fired.
But she was totally unorganized and I organized everything for her,
when I would come back several days later,
her place would be turned upside down again,
and the files would be out of the drawers, it was a mess.
Glad I got away, she was sooooo ADD

lol

She still calls me every now and then, but no way am I going back.

That's actually a good position to take. Getting fired isn't exactly something to aspire to.

Don't worry. Work hard, and -- barring something egregious -- if it happens, you should have a decent enough record that one little bump shouldn't destroy your life.
