Red Wings’ Datsyuk misses Game 4 vs. Penguins

Buzz up!13 votes PrintPITTSBURGH —Red Wings star Pavel Datsyuk did not play in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals, missing his sixth straight game because of a foot injury.

The MVP finalist participated in the morning skate Thursday, then stayed on the ice afterward in an attempt to be ready to face the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Datsyuk said his status would be determined after the pregame skate and it looked as if he was getting ready to play, skating and stretching during warmups until there was 2:45 left on the pregame clock.

But Datsyuk was scratched from the lineup. When that was announced at Mellon Arena, Penguins fans cheered.

Datsyuk last played May 19, when he blocked a shot with his foot against the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals.

Detroit coach Mike Babcock inserted Kris Draper(notes) into the lineup and took out Justin Abdelkader(notes), who scored in the first two games.

OMG...ONE MORE WIN!!!!

Hey, the jersey is on the Spirit of Detroit....I pass it every morning.
Funny, the first jersey was sort of a tight fit and had a plastic look to it (I have a pic of it somewhere)...Today, I noticed a different jersey, looser fit and a cloth-like material....Wonder what happened?
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Look at Sidney Crosby's face in the first photo. It's like he's thinking "My God, can we get this stupid ceremonial face-off over with so we can start the game?!?"

For us, definately HOSSA...I thought he would have been UP for this series, but hasn't done much.

For them, well, let me just say that number 71 (McCalkey???) is better than number 81 (Crosby). Sid the kid is all hype or Detroit just knows how to shut him down...kind of like the Pistons did to Jordan.

Sidney Crosby's number is 87.

I'm going to the AHL's Game 6 (Manitoba Moose vs Hersey Bears) on Friday so I'll just be hearing the NHL updates as they come in at that game.

Go Penguins! Go Moose! (The only Canadian team still playing in pro hockey this season)

So it all comes down to one game. Even though Detroit is probably the fav/ for Game 7. Which goalie, basically is going to earn his paycheck? My $$ is on Detroit, Hockey Town.Only hockey will tell.
