and Toronto's subway is not even a real subway system. After I used the NYC one and realized there are express trains instead of stopping at every single stop for each one, I realized. Toronto's system is nowhere near as extensive as NYC's, but it's totally a "real" subway sytem. Anyway, the size and services of the respective transits have litte to do with the central point: NYC is a jungle!!! Toronto is a petting zoo.

 plenty of celebs ride the subway in manhattan. unless you're currently on the billboard charts or a white hot reality star it's more common than you think. the locals don't bother people in new york. i only visit once a year, but i've seen a few people jumping off the train to hit the village or book it on over to trader joe's. i figure if it's just an ordinary day, you don't feel like hailing a taxi, and you're not an attention magnet, why not? | |

I've seen at least a few celebs on the subway. The last one I remember was John Slattery from Mad Men/Desperate Housewives at the Times Square station. It isn't that surprising--faster then a cab when you consider midtown traffic and a lot cheaper.  | |
