Ladies? Brooke Shields: I Would've Lost My Virginity Earlier
Monday, May 25, 2009 AP Brooke Shields Brooke Shields told Health magazine she would have lost her virginity a lot sooner than she did — at age 22 — if it weren't for her body issues. "I had the public and all this pressure, and I wish I had just gotten it over with in the beginning when it was sort of OK," Shields said in a question and answer session with the magazine. "I think I would have been much more in touch with myself." She says her biggest health regret was not learing to love the way she looked earlier. "I think I wouldn’t have had issues with weight — I carried this protective 20 pounds [in college]," she said. "It was all connected. And to me, that’s a health regret." http://www.foxnews.com/st...44,00.html I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

What's the question?
Anyway, I'm surprised she waited so long given her very publicly provocative younger years, especially with so many kids in the limelight exposed to so much and denied so little, her parents must have sheltered her big time, been on set for every minute on everything. She wouldn't have found peace with herself if she'd done it early either, that kind of thing isn't found between the legs at any age.

you mean is virginity such a big burden to carry around that you try to get rid of it as early as possible? Or you mean is delaying it because of esteem/body issues a problem? I guess it's something to feel hung up if you are the only one of a group of friends to not have had the experience yet. In hindsight, knowing what I know now, I think I couldn't give 2 hoots WHEN it happened, as long as I was doing it with someone that was nice. For me once I'd had sex, I was kicking myself for not doing it earlier because of how much fun it was, but in reality, it was exactly the right time, for both me and my partner. Any issues I'd previously had with my body disappeared when I saw how much my guy liked me just the way I happened to be - he couldn't get enough of me I was 18, late amongst my peers, but probably early enough for me.

You mean body issues? If so, the answer is yes.

I'm really tired of Brooke and her myriad issues. Isn't she an actress? Doesn't she have some roles to talk about?

Remembers her in her college days... She wasn't what most people would consider heavy. Now, that's a skewed body image.

I didn't lose mine until I was 23, and I really have no regrets about that
It might be late compared to my friends, but it was perfect timing for me If you will, so will I

It might be late compared to my friends, but it was perfect timing for me Right, I mean your friends didn't have to sleep with the person and subject themselves to that high level of vulnerability. I'm glad you have no regrets and was treated with the respect you deserve Stacey. You can't force anything. The only timing that is right is when it feels right for YOU, not Bob The Ice Cream Man...Jackie Jenny 2 blocks zway... or Antonio next door. I think society puts a lot of pressure on the whole thing. And if it's not society's pressure that one feels it's peer pressure. As for Brooke, she'll do anything to get in the magazines.

I lost mind around that same age, What's wrong with that? [Edited 5/26/09 9:00am]

[Edited 5/26/09 9:00am] i don't think there's anything wrong with it and i don't think sheilds is endorsing any negative standpoint on it i lost mine just last year at 22 i think what she's saying is that in hindsight, based on her own perception of herself, she wishes it had happened earlier because she realized how clouded her own self perception was as a younger girl now i don't think she means like fucking at 14, but coming from the same mind-state, i would've enjoyed losing it as a teenager (teen as in 16-19 for me) rather than in my last year of university. [...i think i can, i think i can, i think i can...]
