The trick, I believe after having studied this stupid thing much longer than I wanted to, is to pretend that as the leg that is extended outward is moving around the woman's body, that it is moving in front of her. This will make yuor mind think it's going in one direction.

The next time, try to 3 dimensionally imagine going behind her. It changes the direction.

It doesn't appear the right-to-left shadow at the bottom has any affect on which direction your mind is going to perceive her to be spinning.

For me, she's not even spinning. She's moving left, then right, left, then right. lol

How is she spinning clockwise or counter clockwise if I'm looking from the side?

Just imagine as hard as you can that her extended leg is moving either in front or behind her depending on which direction you want her to move. It's really difficult, even now after I found the trick. But it works.

I was beginning to believe that this was on a timer, but it totally isn't.

I get that part, but my point is, is she moving clockwise based on looking at her from above her head or below her toes? I don't read a clock from the left or right edge, I read it from the front.

personally I choose to look up at her from below

I mean look at a clock, then look at the girl (try to ignore the fact that she is naked).

How am I supposed to know which way is clockwise? She's spinning front to back.

If I imagined that I was looking at her from above it might appear clockwise, but if I look from below it's counterclockwise.

The fact that I am on acid right now has nothing to do with it!

No I can't stop looking at her nipples. I'm not sure what it has to do with with the direction she's spinnin, but I guess we know what part of my brain is dominant. neutral
