JON AND KATE PLUS 8-SEASON PREMIER-DISCUSSION

O.K.- that was extremely hard to watch. he hates her and she is so full of anger. You couldn't cut the tension with a saw. The whole papparrazi aspect was new and unbelievable. They can't go anywhere any more.

Do I think she brought this upon her family- no- not entirely- it takes two to tango. Do I think he's being a complete ass about it? Yes.

Poor kids.

I feel that she is the one that has changed the most due to this exposure, and not in a good way. He is responding because I think he feels stepped on...

they are both not in a healthy frame of mind right now.

I thought it was sad. The show changed her a lot. She needs to do a lot of work on herself and her family away from the media. She kept saying how she loves this life. He kept saying how he hates it. She is choosing to the business over her marriage. This is one of the reasons why I pay little attention to people to preach to others about how good Christian people should live. I dislike her, but I am still sad for her. She won't be happy with the results of her choices.

well what can they do now that they both don't have jobs?
is it safe or smart for them to go back to their old life and jobs?
those children will be better off if they worked on their marriage and stayed together.

change is good- however- I don't believe that they both changed "swiftly" like she said. This has been ongoing. They definitely neeed help working things out becaause Jon's "wuss" attitude is causing him to give up on his marriage.

I'll bet the ratings are up. In the end that's the only reason this show exists.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Given that I'm not watching the show cause I'm just simply burnout on these folks, I barely watched it last season I just got drawn as far as I did by that little girl.
I'll be nice and simply say there's a lot of college tuitions they got to get together, let alone whatever disabilities they may have to deal with concerning multiple births.

As far as Kate's bitchiness, folks been e-mailing her since day one about it, she's steadily gotten worse, it must be working for her in someway, personally, I haven't a clue how. I'm sure Jon's getting it thrown at him from every direction, he doesn't have to try at all, every pretty, pretty sympathizes with him and he can fix things around the house, he's a hot ticket.

I completely agree! That would be a better show. No one's life is as perfect as Kate wanted everyone to believe hers was. Be an example of how to work through the really tough times.

the show was sad to watch, i have seen MANY episodes during this weekend marathon - they have been a mess for a very long time. she was mistreating him many years ago and he did nothing to set the boundries in thier relationship - for that, he is guilty. after awhile, with that type of relationship and that many kids and the pressures of a television show and the total lack of respect between one another, it is not surprising that they are in trouble.

im sure they will probably divorce, at least thats the way it looks right now... but i do hold hope that they will work it out eventually, any marriage that falls apart after two people once loved each other is a sad sad thing.

I have never seen this show. But here's a Kathy Griffin tweet from "about 23 hours ago":

C'mon! Jon is a lazyass TOOL. I'm not sayin Kate is a saint, but I've been watching this show from the start. It's always been Kate + 9.

It's the world of t.v.

Not that this will give you any great insight, but they're a t.v. reality couple that had two sets of multiple births, twin girls the first time and sextuplets the 2nd time, 3 girls, 3 boys. They've been doing this show since the "six" were a year old, now they're 5. It's very popular.

I am going to have to agree with this. Kate seems to be the one that does everything where the kids are concerned, and it seems to me she has to tell Jon what to needs to be done. It's like he is just waiting around for instructions. Even in this episode,Kate had to plan, and put a birthday party together for the sextuplets without Jon,because he needed a weekend off? confused

exactly- I understand that they are not together now- but to abandon the kids during their birthday preparation was a good example of why she treats him like that.- she had to leave the kids- go decorate the place- go back and get the kids, etc..

and then when he did show up- he told the cameras that he drove seperately and that she forgot the cake and he had to go back- and then that she forgot her phone and he had to go back- and then he did a "superman" move for the camera when she asked him to please see why there was water in the other inflatable thingys-

it's like he wanted to "show" us how miserable he is- I say suck it up you got 8 kidsand a wife

Yeah. I wondered about that (ratings) also. Now that they are facing a real test, people are going to be watching more, just to see what happens.

Yep. Doesn't it strike anyone as odd that all this "marital strife" was kept bottled up right until the season premiere?

It was pretty rough watching the season opener, not because me wife kept flipping the darn channel but because, like someone already stated, you could feel the tension. I hope that they can work things out and stay together.

Heck yeah. And plus Kate has said that the issue will be addressed throughout the current season.http://www.tvguide.com/News/Jon-Kate-Plus-1005820.aspx

What gets me, in this link, 60% of the people polled by TVguide, want the fallout over the photographs of Jon Gosselin to be addressed in the new season, which I am sure that the powers that be want. This show is the highest ranked show on TLC...ever. So once again, $$$$ rules.

nod agreed.

From what I saw last night,I think it's just a matter of time before their divorce is announced. Just there interview at the end was enough for me to think this. Kate said that she "was there",as if to say she wants to make it work, and Jon's response was "I'm here for my kids",as if to say, I am not here for Kate anymore.

I think this whole episode has been simmering ever since she got impregnated with sextuplets. My guess is that Jon never wanted to have that many children, but Kate was the alpha person in that relationship, so whatever she wanted she got. People who watched the show saw how badly Kate treated Jon throughout their marriage, and now we hear rumors about how she treated her staff that helped take care of the children, so it apparently isn't all just about Jon being a complete wuss (though he is). I don't know whether Jon was actually cheating on Kate, but he probably couldn't put up with her insufferable treatment any longer and just sought out anyone who would make him feel better about himself.

It's ironic how in light of the troubles of Jon and Kate, the Octomom suddenly doesn't look so crazy.

this whole situation is a mess! i would hate to have my entire life splashed all over the television and in newspapers and magazines disbelief i can see how innocently enough this all started - hugely curious people wondering how life with 6 lil ones would be. but somewhere along the way, the money took over... didnt we all hear the saying "money and family dont mix"?? i will miss the show if they quit, i have started to get to know the kids personalities and look forward to seeing them on different episodes. i do have to say that the first thing that had me hooked was watching kate and how incredibly HORRIBLE she was to her husband - it was kinda like a how to NOT treat your husband show lol but, in the end, im sad for them both - they got in over their heads and forgot how fortunate they are to have the opportunity to share with the world how their life is while maybe making a little pocket money to help with the incredible expenses of raising those kids... now its all about the ratings and the money sigh and, have you seen the new house they just bought???? eek its amazing how much money they made by doing this show!!!!

and as stated earlier, youre right, octomom got a lot of pressure taken off her from all this didnt she? as far as im concerned - the octomom was always a nutjob, from day one she was crazy as fuck so there was no 'slipping' into a different situation as far as her story goes. who knows, if this show falls apart, maybe she will take their place shrug
