Unconfirmed reports emanating from the blog world suggest Kate Gosselin, star of Jon and Kate Plus 8 and What Hairstyle Is That?, has asked for two more seasons of the TV show that documents her life to be agreed to by cable station TLC.

The price she'll have to pay for that deal? Agreeing to go to marriage counseling with her seemingly estranged husband Jon, according to the National Enquirer.

The Florida-based tabloid is reporting TLC insiders say Gosselin initially refused counseling completely, despite the shambolic state of her marriage, but agreed to the sessions only if she would get another two seasons of TV fame.

Negotiations to get TLC's cameras in on the sessions for use on the show itself are reportedly underway.

The new season of Jon and Kate Plus 8, in which Kate complains about all the attention her family gets from the press while being paid $75,000 per show to parade her family on television, starts Monday night.

I haven't seen the show, but since this couple has been in tv interviews non-stop lately, from what I see of the wife I find her not very likeable. While I have only seen a clip or two of the show, unfortunately she simply comes off as a ball crushing, controlling banshee of a wife. I applaud her for being as strictly organized as she is to run her household and mange 8 children, as well as negotiate a slalary for them to live comfortably and plan for her family's future...but she still comes off as a witch to me, sorry

in light of the fact that the first episode this season is dealing with the marriage falling appart, i think its twisted that they are doing a marathon that started today at 3 and goes through till monday night midnight i believe... must admit, as it is one of my daughters favorite shows, i have seen several episodes today one thing is for certain, that woman is MEAN to her husband!!! in my most humble opinion - if i was her husband, i would have gone outside the marriage as well...man that kills me to say that, but seriously, she is just horrible to him!!! shes really all about her feelings and extremely ungrateful to him - its sad

I saw an interview with the poor husband that was a related video from something I was watching on youtube: man! he looked, well, defeated...and this appeared to be a couple of years old . Actually though, his body language was terrible and he spoke like a person very unsure of himself and just downright, I dunno, stifled...there was a question about hobbies and parenting, or things he most enjoyed while filming, and he mentioned that he used to love to ride bikes, but had to stop when he got married. I understand stopping a hobby when you become a parent because you don't have time, but to simply stop because you get marrried...? Sorry that just said to me that he married a ball crusher.

Seems odd to me that all this is happening just a few months after the last season ended with the last episode showing them confessing that they were having problems and weren't sure if their marriage would survive. Now, the new season's beginning, all this media attention is on them and their marital problems, especially in the sea of all these other "big" or "unique" family reality shows. There may be an element of bull being flung around, probably not a lot but some, it's all about ratings anyway.

Every other sentence out of her mouth while speaking to her husband contains an insult, a put down, or a condescending back-handed compliment. Who the hell wants to live with that for 9 years

Now, I understand, pure rumor of course, per an affiliate of CNN, that Jon & Kate have had a contract for a while now that as long as Jon stays with the show he can girlfriends. What people will do to be paid, I guess is the question.

I agree with you on that! I was watching this show once where they were talking to Kate and Jon alone. Jon said something, and Kate sat there and corrected him, in a not-so-nice manner. I could not be married to someone like that. I probably would lose my mind.

You know I actually enjoyed this lil show a couple years back, but now its just seems like its all become the art of publicity.

Sad cause for a couple of years the show had heart.
