The architecture is from many ages, from the 12th till the 20th century on. Rich in styles, it all has one thing in common and that it is the typical yellow stone. This can only be found in the surroundings of Salamanca and makes it not only a completely unique, but also a city of 'gold' when the sun hits the stones. I remember walking there in the early morning and seeing the sun glitter on the buildings and it was like pure gold. When the sun sets the colour turns to dark, reddish gold, which creates an atmosphere of warmth and comfort that is unsurpassed. Can't really be catched in a picture but this one shows some. I think it has some very beautiful spots but it's not very beautiful overall. I always do love the Plaza Real in the barrio Gotico. I stay there whenever I'm there, that's really nice, but overall it's not a really pretty town to my taste. It is a very fun and cool town to be tho'!
