Today, the world woke up to find spaceships over every major city. The Visitors claim to have come in peace, bringing gifts of medical miracles and technological breakthroughs. They promise to do no harm. They're lying.

Most people believe the aliens have arrived just when we needed them most. I remember the original mimiseries when they aired back in the 1980's. Considering the rather limited special effects of the time and the rather limited network TV budgets compared to now, it was exciting to watch. However, when they tried to turn it into a series, it flopped miserably.

If this is done well (ala Lost or Battlestar Galactica), this could be incredibly awesome. But I wonder how they would spread out the storyline. Would some of the humans ally themselves with the aliens, even in light of their ultimate plot; would there be some rogue aliens who would assist the humans, etc.
