Does SlimFast really work?

I read online today how the FDA has forced Hydroxycut to recall their products due to 23 cases where clients had liver failure or some kind of adverse effect to their liver due to using their products. If you go to hydroxycut.com it has the information on their website.

So in hindsight, I thought about slimfast lol

All diets work by a combination of factors that lead to calorie restriction (whether directly or indirectly). You simply don't lose weight unless you run at a caloric deficit each day (should be between 400 and 500 calories).

Slimfast, I believe is a combination of soy whey protein ill, sugars, artificial flavors, and fats, mainly in the form of hydrogenated oils ill x 100.

What you're ingesting is not food if you're on a slimfast diet.
As much as it absolutely sux to contemplate for a few folks, limiting caloric intake and exercise vigorously each day is the only thing that's safe and works.

It's really a pain in the ass for me as I am shedding weight I put on in 2007, which I only slightly dropped in 2008, and regained again in the winter of 2008. It's coming off.... just at a pace that is annoyingly slow.

16 pounds woot!

Slimfast works but you can do the same thing by figuring out how many calories you burn in a day/week and eating less (and you don't have to have the stupid shakes).

3500 calories equals a pound, so a 500 calorie deficit a day will have you losing a pound a week. I should also note, you should never have more than a 1000 calorie deficit per day and women should never go under 1200 calories a day (1500 for men) - you run into starvation and malnutrition under those levels.

This (free) website has a decent tool to figure out your metabolic rate and also has a database to find calorie counts on nearly everything:

It works if you stick to it but it has WAY too much sugar in it. If you're looking for a good meal replacement with minimal calories I'd recommend Medifast.

That's it in a nutshell. Forget those diets and shit, you have to make a lifestyle change.

do you have those meal replacement cookies over there called Limits?
I've seen folks that think as long as they eat one AFTER their greasy pig out meal that they will lose weight wacky

Yep, my grandmother did it years ago, 3 months 70lbs. She worked as a private LVN in those days so she did a lot of moving around, calorie burning.

Eating less works...If Slimfast can help you do that, then it sounds like a good plan

I used to blend the powder up with soy milk and a frozen banana each morning, but that shake is just as good and filling without the powder, so now I skip it and save the money biggrin

I read how you do it, you infect yourself with the worm cyst, then when it gets beyond 3 feet long you take a worming tablet and kill it ill

YUK!!!!! Once when Wally was a baby, he ate a piece of dental floss the master must have dropped on the floor. I was changing his nappy and I really thought he had a 30cm long worm - I nearly fainted! It came out him, just like out of a dispenser!

Is it wrong that I think it's grosser that he ate used dental floss off the floor than the fact that Kitten found it in a turd? lol
