What are your plans for Christmas Eve?

My roommates and I always throw a big Christmas Eve party. We invite a bunch of friends over, have dinner, exchange gifts, play games, get drunk and play alot of loud music...lol...

Then,on Christmas Day we visit our parents. That can be rough sometimes, because I hate for my mother to see me with a hangover...lol...

What are your plans for Christmas Eve? Any special meals? I'm preparing seafood (fried fish, prawns, gumbo, etc) like I always do.

sleep til 9:30pm.

get up, take shower, microwave dinner, check emails, update daily mp3 downloads, go to work.

get to work, work for about an hour, sleep for 2 or 3, surf for the rest.

How many of you will be doing some last-minute shopping on Christmas Eve?

But why would you wanna go shopping in a crowded shopping mall, wait in long lines, and be a part of all that chaos? Also, the stores are gonna be a mess, with everything thrown off the shelves. Are the bargains worth all that trouble?

I'll just sit around eating chocolate and watching TV until Christmas day arrives.

Usually a bunch of us go to China Garden for drinks. Occassionaly we'll go to midnight mass, only if we're not too drunk wink Then I go home and open presents with my mom around 1AM. We sleep late the next morning and then I go to my Dad's house. Later that night I'll see my boyfriend and just lay around.

Congrats - that's so cool.

I'll be wrapping gifts, chasing the kids to bed, and drinking wine . . . nah, I'll be drinking Jack Daniels.

Pity to the kids gifts if they still need to be assembled after 1 am.

lol

Thanks... it's hard to believe he's going to be six already! eek I feel old...

I told myself that I will not be buying any gifts that require being assembled this year. Last year I was up until 5 in the morning. Good luck with that! smile

Old?? Nah, you've still got a ways to go. Mine are 13, 10, 8 and 14 months. That's 32 years of terror to face every time I open the front door.

Maybe I'll just have the 13 year old assemble everything. She knows Santa's real names are ATM and VISA, and won't be surprised . . .

I'll sit around, bake a lot, hang out with my sisters while my mother runs around like a madwoman. Maybe I'll see my boyfriend, that would be a nice Christmas gift.

Go to Christmas Eve service, come home, watch some TV/surf on the net, go to bed to wake up early the next morning - even though we're all getting old, my sisters still insist on waking me up at 8 AM! mad

Hopefully I'll be done shopping by that point, but it's highly unlikely. I've gone shopping on Christmas Eve for each of the last 8 years or so- I've turned it into an art. lol I'll probably bake and decorate Christmas cookies with my brother as well.

Too bad I'm out $375 for car repairs, or I'd be able to visit you sometime soon, perhaps. sad

First of all, there's no way it should cost that much. Second of all, there's no way that you should have to pay for it. That's what insurance is fucking for, to insure that things like this are taken care of. I mean, why pay for something that you don't get any use out of. You should definitely not take no for an answer. I hope Eric makes things right.

I know- it's ridiculous- "we can't take your claim because your policy number doesn't start with a 10 or an 11." What's that all about?

Maybe it's a regional thing or maybe that portion of the claims department doesn't handle your #'s or something stupid. I know that they should take care of this though. Hopefully we can get it straightened out when you come home.
