Tell me what U thought of the 2 hour finale last night, MG.

I was a bit disappointed.

No closure with Tony Almeida.
Jack didn't kick enough ass, and he should've beat down Tony.
2 much soap opera mush.
Not enough mind blowing twists.

There was some good stuff, 4 sure though.

Your thoughts?

It seemed 2 be the ONLY episode that seemed rushed this whole season. Some of the small things were 2 much 2 take, like the airport cop hiding behind cardboard boxes when he got shot. That was just plain silly. There were several "goofs" that this show rarely makes but they did. I understand where they were trying 2 go, but the execution was a bit off.

Overall though, loved the show as usual.

Ah man, U just cracked me up big time. That was off... and they made airport cops look REALLY inept during that whole scene..

Jack jumping up and offing those doctors the way he did was VINTAGE though.

But yeah, the whole thing was a bit 2 sappy, and not enough serious "WTF moments/twists".

Interesting how they seemed to bridge the seasons with a plot point. It was like, a "huh, oh really, interesting" kind of moment. There was something higher driving Tony through the past 24 hours. I thought he was a double agent a first, then I centered on his character being rogue -- and sticking to whatever side worked to get his agenda done.

In the years I have been watching 24 (similar to the short-lived Alias), there is always, or in most cases, someone or some entity that is controlling the strings, or had influence. A very tangled web. There is always someone or something higher up in the food chain setting things in motion.

I was shocked to hear that the other black ops military contractor group leader was a key figure in the President Palmer assissination. I guess if there was no season 8, this could have ended okay, with Jack dying in the hospital of some fast-acting nerve agent, but that's not Jack that we know. Why would the writers stop his character like that? He's been through a whole heck of a lot, from mass shockings and stopping his heart, to toture and the like. But with Kim Bauer forcing her way to say that she could be a donor, we know Jack is alive somehow. Will he step back and be a "Mitch Rapp" (Vince Flynn) type of character who still does stuff, but from an advisor point?

Wonder if season 8 will be the last 24. I enjoyed that it was centered in Los Angeles, but with the move to DC this year, plus a side trek to Africa, and the rumored move the New York City next season, it's a little unsettling. I did like the DC move and I liked the "Vince Flynn" storylines (Read "Transfer of Power" if you have not).

Pretty good season. At least better than season 6.

As for your question -- can I wait seven months? Yes, yes I can.

Don't sweat it. You'll have True Blood to watch in the meantime! nod

The finale seemed odd too me. Kinda anti-climatic. I guess it was the point to end on a somber note, but it felt off.
Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?
