Uh...I thought Oprah was/is natural and she just flat ironed her hair. She said that on one of her makeover shows a few years back and recently showed a pic on her website with her really big fro cuz people were accusing her of wearing extensions.

Yes, Oprah is now pressing her hair (then flat-ironing, or whatever styling method), but she's still altering the natural state of her hair w/ the press (which is healthier for the hair but harder to maintain for most people). I think what's being asked is wearing a style that's something closer to the texture that grows out of one's head...

^^Almost everyone at some point will wear their hair in a state other than how it grows out of their head. Girls seem to be more into their hair than boys so I wager that they will start doing things to their hair at an earlier age...say 12 or whenever they hit puberty and begin to obsess over how they look. Altering the state of one's hair could include the following:
coloring the hair (either permanent or temporary) dreading the hair perming (to make curly) perming (to make straight) Applying heat Applying products that make the hair sticky, moldy, lay flat, stand up, scrunch and so forth Adding in purchased hair (human or synthetic). Glue particularly can damage the follicle

Maybe it'll be borne out in how this thread does as far as post count and by whom. Are you sure it wasn't something during the course of his thread that lead to the locking? Yah unfortunately as unintentional as some of these threads are, they tend to attract the usual round of suspects. They get off on twisting the subject matter all around to suit themselves and discredit the motives of others. Ding ding ding ding!!! Nail head, you are hitting it.

I had to say that I find it interesting that you agree with Pantha's statement and yet you don't see your own hypocrisy. Hilarious.
