RANT: Bike RIDERS..GET OUT THE STREET

Please do not ride in the street if you cannot go more than 35 mph on a bike. It is very inconsiderate of people with cars or trucks to have to pass you over because they are scared to hit you. Please use the sidewalk when applicable. Thank you.

AND TO THOSE WHO DIDNT UNDERSTAND THAT:

I swear to God if I see another one of ya'll on the bridge or on the road only going 20mph in street traffic I am going to run you over! I swear to God..thats what the SIDEWALK is for! Let me catch another one of ya'll fools on the side of me, Im'a get out my car and you are going to get cut for real, I'm not playing with ya'll fools.
Oh so what, the next time you fall and bust your head next to my car you going to want to try to take ME to court hell with that, your behind shouldnt have been on the road...you got two wheels but I dont care what the DMV say you aint no MOTOR VEHICLE, I dont know what u been taught but the next time I'm gonna teach you to get OUT the street.

talk to the hand you know better.

now just chill that young impatient ass of yours down and respect the shared use of the road. my fat out of shape ass will attempt to stay out of your way but I am obligated to use the road according to traffic laws just as you are!

that 10 seconds you had to pause to get around that bike DIDN'T FUCKIN KILL YOU. who's more at risk? the fat ass stuck in a mess of traffic on a bit of aluminum and two skinny tires or you in your car?

share the road. and get on a bike too and save some gas.

i don't have a problem with bikers, being that i bike a lot myself. but when you have people riding in pairs side by side on a residential road or city street for that matter, yeah, it's a little annoying. i'm talking about those who expect you to stay behind them will they ride at 10-15mph for the next 1-2 miles, f that! i stay near the lake and they got that shit bad over here. single file people!

Oh not down here...nothing ever happens to anyone on the sidewalk..ever. You have to ride your bike in the street Downtown where there is alot of traffic and stuff but NO..SOME PEOPLE want to ride 15 mph in the street...one person damn near fell and I almost rode over his behind because everyone else was hinking and trying to get them off the street. And these pople are not over weight..these are fit lean folk who just think they are a car because they have a helmet on their head. I say if you dont have to have a LICENSE to ride a bike then ya behind should not be on the road, highways or bi-ways...to he-- with all that other mess. There arent bike lanes eveywhere in Mpls

they aren't a car, but they have a right to the shared use of the road. and i think you would find it is also the law there regardless of the absence of bike lanes. there is only one route from the university here where there is a bike lane.

respect their space. don't crowd. pass when safe. you know bike riders are also at risk of being toppled by an opening car door from a parked vehicle. there are a LOT of hazards they have to keep aware of.

I understand all that, however when I am on the bike and I happen to be in the street, im going to move my behind over to NOT get hit by someone who just happens to be looking at her cellphone X_____just in CASE I have to spend the rest of my days paralyzed waist down in the hospital. I would THINK others would think the same thing..knowing full and well you can be crushed to pieces in the street riding 15 mph.

If people are riding 15 mph on a bike, they're going at an above-average clip.

Roads are public rights of way - and cyclists have every right to use them.

Oh - and bike licenses simply register a bike with a municipality. They are not intended to authorize the use of a bicycle and do not infer any kind of expertise on the part of the rider. (I got my first bike license when I was 8 - and it wasn't like I had to take a test.)

I can sound like the hell I want to sound like this is the org, I been on here for 7 long mf.'n years and i aint going nowhere, this aint the first time I ranted about fools in the public either..this is like my 7th rant post. I just have to get these things off my chest especially after some dude almost fell off his bike and his groceries almost hit my window...that fool could have caused me and other people commotion with all the mess he was carrying. If that fool wasnt on the road trying to get his behind home so fast he wouldnt have caused me to make this post.

Tired of all them fools on the road, get ya GOT DAMN ass off and get on a fuckin sidewalk like we used to do back in the day. I remember seeing kids get smacked upside the head for that. Remember what ya'll parents said? "Dont PLAY IN THE STREET!" Thats exactly what them assholes are doing. Talking about illegal..its illegal to be switching lanes with no light and going 70mph on 55 but I don't see nobody stopping anyone from doing that. Hell it's illegal to do it in the butt in most states..the fuck? Ok?

Anyway thats my rant for the day, dont say nothing when ya'll get ran over by accident because you want to be going up and down hills in traffic like you on a scooter or motorcycle. Wont be satisfied until something happen to ya'll ass.

In New York and Chicago it is illegal to ride your bike on the sidewalk. (Note that it's called a sideWALK, not a sideride?) My friend actually got a ticket from the NYPD for riding his bike on the sidewalk in Queens.

I HATE when the frickin' delivery guys ride their bikes on the sidewalks. NYC sidewalks are crowded enough without bicycles. Get on the street!
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I dunno, Isaiah...

I'd much rather deal with bicyclists on the outer lanes of roadways as a motorist than deal with them on sidewalks as a pedestrian. People on foot can get really messed up by a nutty bicyclist on a sidewalk. It's somewhat more dangerous for bicyclists to be on the road, on the other hand, but they assume their own risk -- and if they abide by laws, both they and motorists should be fairly safe... at least in theory.

I agree laws for proper use of the roadway by bicyclists should be enforced, though, just as they are for motorists. And for several reasons I'd love to see more dedicated bike lanes in municipalities that can accommodate them. Everyone would win.

Yeah because I swear there is not enough ANYWHERE for bikers. Especially in the suburbs or just on main roads. When I would ride my bike I would ride on the sidewalk because that was the way I was taught..Id go in the street when there was people in the streeets..otherwise we all were told and my friends were told the same way.

There are annoying car drivers just as many as annoying bike riders. They both should get off the road.
Bikes belong on the road, not on the sidewalk. They have the same right as you do to be there. If you are impatient on the road, then you should not be driving. You need to be calm, patient and drive safe.
