FOX'S DOLLHOUSE WOOHOO DOLLHOUSE RENEWED!!!

SPOILER LINK: http://ausiellofiles.ew.c...exclu.html

While I have to admit that I found some of the middle episodes kinda blah and poorly produced, Once they did the reboot around episode 6 the show finally found its voice and has gotten better with each episode. Even half the time expecting anyone in the cast could be a possible doll, the show has started working so well that each twist is suddenly logical and a WOW moment.

I'm just hoping that FOX gives this series a second season and gets them out of the Friday night viewer coffin trap. This show deserves an audience.

N Alpha is the shit.

I'm betting it's cancelled.

But I can't believe I haven't even checked it out yet, considering how stoked I was when I heard about it.

ah well. I'm sure it'll be on DVD.

yeah.... I've discovered that I just don't have the attention span to watch movies, TV shows... even music videos... on the internet confused Really want to check this out, though. Hopefully it's not cancelled and I can catch up with DVD and then put the effort into watching S2 next year. If it's still around, this could be the first time I've made a point to tune into a weekly show since the last time I got burned, with Heroes season 2. confused

Agreed agreed agreed!

Last night's episode kicked ass!

It's finally hitting it's stride and it would be a damn shame to kill it now. sad

I think it's already dead. We'll know for sure in a couple of weeks though.

Last week's episode was the lowest rated of the series.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

I just viewed the first two episodes of Dollhouse today after crushing on Fran Kranz for a good week or so. smile

Unfortunately, I gotta say this is bad TV so far. And not campy bad like, say, True Blood -- just bad. Echo is boriing. I hate the dialogue. The acting is thin. The pace in the first couple eps has been "off." It risks being too episodic and disjointed with an "engagement of the week." And the characters seem way too "archetypy."

I'm banking on reports Joss eventually catches his stride with a fantastic premise around eps 6 or 7.

Trust this little mouse, bout epy 6 everything comes together and you see where its headed. N watching the season finale tonight it was not only well done and smart writing, it was poignant n brought up once again the plight of women n they're treatment by both sides. The last two episodes rocked the frakkin house.

N I found a lil joss interview.

I have no idea what it's about, and have no interest in it. My Fox shows are Prison Break (FINALLY coming to an end), Sarah Connor and Hell's Kitchen (over next week), and Idol when it's on. Never watched Bones, Fringe (which, for a split second, looks like "PRINCE" when it's all blurry), House, etc.

No hate here. It's not YOUR show, so what does it matter anyway what I think? Just my two cents against the show, not you.

I'll keep watching, if only to look at Fran. mushy

I hope the show doesn't get cancelled before it has the chance to catch a second wind. But the latest news doesn't give me a good feeling...

I guess the network FOX committed to pay for 13 episodes, but decided to air only 12 because they skipped the crappy pilot. That's fine. But what I think is scary is 20th Century Fox, the studio that makes the show, actually made an extra episode, a 14th, intended only for the Season 1 DVD release. You'd think FOX would reappropriate that extra episode if only to get its initial money's worth. (If I paid the reported $19.5 million to $26 million for 13 eps, I'd darned well be airing 13 eps!) But they actually decided to forgo that, taking the loss and leaving the extra episode, indeed, for DVD only.

I guess that sort of thing will inspire folk to go out and buy the DVD, but, honestly, fans would likely have bought it anyway. And what sort of message does it send that FOX would rather take a $1.5 to $2 million loss on a missing episode than to air it when they already have it in pocket? sad

Nope. As I understand it, folk just assumed it would be cancelled (even before it debuted), because Joss Whedon is so inconsistent. confused

OK... I just saw episode 6, and... wow! You were not lying! woot!dancing jigboogie Things are getting really interesting!

Interesting, too, that a couple of the actors I've seen now on Dollhouse have had appearances on True Blood.

See and thats the problem with Fox. From what I've read they made Joss go back and reshoot a couple of early episodes cause they wanted a more self contained storyline episodes. That's why the first half of the season is so hit or miss. Now that you've hit the groove it just gets better n better.

I'm really hoping for a second season cause that's always when Whedon's magic spell blooms.

I know, right!?! I was prepared to keep myself sedated all weekend. lol

I've heard any pick-up arrangement would come only with significant cost-cutting. I know we'll be seeing more commercials now, so episodes will be shorter. I also wonder if there will be casting cuts and what sort of production downsizing they'll do.

That is why Joss made the extra episode for the DVD he wanted to show the Fox Excus. that they could still make stellar episodes on a shoe string budget. The other factors were the huge amount of viewership on DVR and online streaming and DVD sells.

I'm just glad that Joss now can work his magic cause he's set everything up to mess with.

Depends on the second season honestly. If the second season rocks ill pick up both. The more episodes the more I feel to buy the whole package.

Wow. I've never been able to get into Buffy. Of course, I've never tried. shrug

You probably will think Dollhouse is mediocre at best up through episode 5. But from episode 6 onward, it will rock!
