Have any of you ever had a dental implant done? I know they are expensive, but are they painful?

Never had this done personally but wise idea to make certain you have the best dentist before doing it! I have a friend who had it done by a bad dentist and it cost allot of money to repair, and quite a bit of pain. Just be careful.

i've heard they are painful...the person indicated that they would never get another one...
i know they can't be fun..well they don't sound like it..

fyi if you want fuller lips, one way of doing it is with veneers or teeth that push the lips out from the inside.

I had one done a few years ago - not pleasant but I thought it would be more painful.

It's not cheap though - my sister needs 12 implants done () so she's going down the dental tourism route.

few yrs ago i chipped my front tooth...the dentist "filed it down" to a point & then permenently fit an idential false tooth onto the point. i think this is called a cap ?..not too sure...it cost $600- but hubbys insurance covered 80%
Oh...as long as you get novicane shot...its totally painless!~~~

.good luck~ implants are not cheap.

We just got a quote to get a bottom permanent partial for my mother, because she has a host of trouble with her regular one, $2,400

Go to Mexico, they do it really cheap. My mother did her whole mouth for 300.

Yep, and surprisingly they have amazing dentists. People also go there for cheap drugs. America is keeping this a secret for obvious reasons, some of them racist.
