Aretha 'Insulted' By Jenny Craig By JT Ramsay

Popcrunch reports that the Queen of Soul was 'insulted' by Jenny Craig's latest offer to become their new celebrity spokesperson, dismissing it out of hand. While a Jenny Craig contract might not be the most tactful way to reach out to a plus-sized celeb, it's not without precedent. Aretha has already tried the Jenny Craig diet once -- and even got results -- dropping 25 pounds. So what's the problem? It turns out that Aretha felt like she was 'always starving.' You see, the food itself is rather good, but as the diet dragged on Aretha reverted to being the Queen of Soul Food, telling Sister 2 Sister magazine: I lost 23 or 24 pounds to begin with, but it’s kind of a strain when you get to 23 or 24 pounds. That’s why I got off of it. It’s a strain because you’re eating the Jenny Craig-type meals, which are very good. But you can only eat them for so long before you want some barbecue ribs or some pigs feet. Once you get off that Jenny Craig thing and you start eating what you’ve been eating, it’s all over. Is Aretha right to feel insulted, or could she use some help managing her weight?  | |

If Aretha is happy being obese, let her be. It'll be a shame when she dies prematurely because all her organs are fatty but hell, them pigs feet are worth it.

I guess it escaped her that eating the way she wants is what got her where she is. Maybe she'll never be ready to accept that her daily habits have to change, & it certainly gets harder as she gets older    I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! What are the common ways it's prepared? It's not eaten right out of the pickle jar, is it? 
When I worked a corporate job, we had this 'grossest food' contest and I got second place because I was the only one willing to take a bite of a pickled pig's foot (my girl Lavonnia wouldn't even come near it, and she's as southern soul as you can get!). It was like chewing on rubber. To this day, I still don't know how it's prepared. Oh shit, my hat done fell off | |
