emm said: yeah that's right... let the stereotypes roll! :igloo: we had snow today.
it was beautiful yesterday and I was basking in the sun and gardening in my shirtsleeves (70+) but today was cold and windy and there was too much snow on the windshields to leave for the wipers. Gone for the most part now and will get to 70 by the weekend again. But all is right with the world. Mom had a good checkup yesterday. Even though she will probably need another surgery the whole sepsis worry is greatly lessened. And Ocean finally got her three months later hi to you. yes, you! i miss ya and if you tell me that you love me i'll tell you that I love you too Thank the Lord! That news rocks!!! By the way, I like how emm converts the temperature from Celsius for us parochial Americans.

the palm trees did surprise me when I saw them. I had seen the agave plants in Kelowna... but then Kelowna reminded me a lot of Arizona so that didn't surprise me. I saw bamboo at UVic but I had seen bamboo in Arizona... now the magnolias... The Okanagan is probably the most surprising climate in this country. Further south, close to the border, cacti grows. Tourists are always shocked. I'm moving to a new house soon. The new roomies and I are thinking we should hijack some bamboo from somewhere for out front the house, because the yard is just yard. All lawn, very boring. [Edited 5/16/09 12:55pm] "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I wouldn't have thought you would pass them but I guess I would be surprised at how far north NYC is. I could have flown to NYC for $250 return I'll probably kick myself for that just as long as I kick myself for not going to ONA. I'm sure it was some other lake we didn't fly that far north at all
