do you routinely watch any shows you really can't stand?

While we're waiting for the school bus every morning my kids have me watching the 'Lilo and Stich' cartoon. I didn't like it at first, and I still think it's pretty stupid, but...I guess I'm a little hooked.

Probably because Kevin McDonald does the voice of Agent Pleakley. Love that.

I end up watching some stuff that my wife is in to, stuff that I wouldn't watch on my own. But that's ok, there's stuff she ends up watching because I'm interested in it.

But there is one program - or rather one person - that I'm sick to the teeth of :

This twonk :

'How To Look Good Naked' I could tolerate, because it was liberally sprinkled with nakedness, and (even though it was a 'reality' show and therefore far removed from reality) it seemed always to be a very positive and helpful process for those involved, so therefore at least watchable.

But this 'Gok Fashion Fix' rubbish really gets on my tits. It's purely a vehicle for stamping the Gok brand into our brains. I've nothing against Gok, I'm just sick of him at this stage, and I do hope he has now amassed enough moola to bugger off and start his own fashion line or something and get the hell off my TV.

"routinely"

No

sometimes I will watch a show with friends that I do not really care for or plan on watching on my free time at home

and sometimes I will watch a show at home just to see what it's about

I cant stand the thought of routinely nwatching something i do not like/learn from though - seems such a waste of time and energy

It is, but if you're watching because your significant other is into it, then it's necessary, and you tell yourself it's worth the pain.

I've been a big Buffy fan for a long time, but could never get into Angel during its initial run. I recently bought the first season and have been watching it when I go to bed, but I don't know... it's just kind of "meh" for me. I'm hoping it gets better.

Well, I don't watch it, but after Family Guy they show Two And A Half Men.

I hate the damn show, but sometimes I'm on the computer and end up sitting through an entire episode of "Charlie, I'm a conservative dorky father and I don't approve of your fun & decadent lifestyle!"

It's certainly not as good a series overall as Buffy, but it has some great moments. It took me a while to really get into too.

I'm in the midst of watching them both together as they originally aired. I watched seasons 1-3 of Buffy, now I'm interchanging season 4 of Buffy with season 1 of Angel (since the episodes aired back to back on the same night and there are some crossovers).

I think this is the geekiest thing I've ever done. redface

Family Guy - thanks to my son catching it on one night.

But I'm probably going to be able to pull the plug on it very soon because my son is now at an age where he actually can understand what's going on and that's not good.

I can't stand to hear Dr.Phil talk and at times he comes off as 'I'm right, you're wrong...now listen to me!' and I hate that...
yet I'll tune in dependin on wat the show's about and cringe listenin to him the entire hour.

for the love of my wife I will also sit through Idol, Survivor, and Amazing Race

this season of Idol has got to be the biggest farce yet - Adam Lambert, my ass. It used to be funny to make fun of that comical metal screaming neutral

I don't do this of my own will, but for whatever masochistic reason, my wife likes to watch Nancy Grace and Glenn Beck, despite the fact we can't stand either of them! disbelief Sometimes I can't handle it, and I leave the room.

I'm going to do that next, if I can slog through all 5 seasons of Angel first. Faith just showed up for the first time, so I'm thrilled lol

lol I just saw him sing for the first time. I was saying to my gf "my favorite musician sings in a high voice, wears makeup, and is kind of gross, but that shit just sucked!"

Does anyone remember Sam Harris from Star Search?

I love Sam Harris. Adam's mannerisms totally remind me of Sam. He also has the same high register.

And that's okay. I feel the same way about Celine Dion. She has a strong voice and she can sing her ass off BUT I don't like her voice. Does that make sense.
I do love her personality though. She's very very funny.

yeah definitely. I watched Barbra Streisand's latest concert a couple weeks ago and it was the same thing. She is amazing, still, hasn't lost a step, but I don't really get into it.
